I love Buenos Aires but when I return I will not stay at this hotel. The staff was friendly, the rooms are dated but clean. However, I had several maintenance issues during my stay which I was not surprised about given the age of the hotel. The first day, I noted my toilet was broken and the door to my shower would not stay closed so water would spill out to the floor. A maintenance person came fairly quickly to remedy the situation. The next day whatever magnet strip placed on the door to fix the issue had fallen off and was presumably thrown away by the cleaning staff. I called 4 times and spoke to someone in person at the desk twice- SIX times total about this issue over 5 days to get the door fixed. I could not take a proper shower- I either had to hold the door with one hand or let the water spill to the floor. I did this every day, cleaning up the water with several towels. I slipped once day on a wet area I missed when cleaning up. I am here, on day 8, after speaking with the front desk staff again over 10 hours ago. They again promised me someone would come right away. No one has come. There is no manager on the weekend. No one has checked or followed up with me. For a “luxury” hotel, I would expect to be able to complete my bare hygiene needs daily and for the customer service to be responsive. I am a paying customer, only expecting what should be the bare minimum.|Important to know ahead there is a good breakfast buffet but not allowed to remove any...

Read moreSummarizing my review before all the text below: I think it is a good option for tourists but not the best option for business travelers.
Everything is a bit outdated in this hotel. The rooms are good, but not updated, so the floors make noise, there are not plugs available everywhere, TV is not smart, and during night can be a bit dark. Cleanliness however is superb. My room smelled a nice cleaning the whole time. The hotel is not great for holding small meetings and working, since it is really hard to find a plug in the lobby and there are not a lot of available working stations. The service is good, but not the most friendly. Everything I needed, I was helped thought. But there were always a bit of bureaucracy and attitude envolved. The food is extremely expensive considering the quality delivered and specially the prices in Argentina. I've paid ~6USD for 2 empanadas that were sold for less than 1USD outside the hotel. Things that more modern hotels do, such as offering free water or water filling stations, are charged a lot in there. Gym was very poor and badly maintened. They have just one machine and that was broken throughout my whole stay. The location is good, close to the subway and several touristic places. But not the safest at night and I've heard a few cases of pickpocketing...
