Excellent local bar and food. On our way back from Parc Lezama and Boca Juniors stadium, we popped into 'Bar Britanico' on the corner of Defensa and Brasil for dinner. Hard to miss! What a good choice that was. The restaurant is large and airy with large windows where you can watch the world go by. The staff were very friendly and helpful, and I had one of the best meals during my stay in Buenos Aires - and it was very inexpensive. Improved, of course, with a Patagonia Amber ale - our drink of choice whilst there. Highly recommended.

This place was a lovely little find! We were initially put off by the name, as it sounded like an English pub. The last thing we wanted when travelling abroad! Turns out the story is much different, in that it is named as such because of all the English officers who used to frequent the venue in its colonial past. Yes, the place is ancient but still brings a great nostalgic vibe to be enjoyed over breakfast. Service is excellent, even if little English is spoken but hey, this is why we travel! Worth a visit, for sure 👍

Si sos vegetariana o vegana, no vale la pena. Su "hamburguesa de lenteja" consiste en dos hamburguesas pequeñas que parecen sacadas de la nevera del supermercado de al lado, con un chorro de salsa barbacoa y una ensalada muy básica. Si no sos vegana viene con una lámina de queso, pero ni siquiera viene con pan hamburguesa, mucho menos con pepinillos, aderezos, chutneys, y el sinfin de otras cosas que debería tener una hamburguesa completa. Si llegas con hambre, no te va a satisfacer. Es un esfuerzo muy flojo que no implica el nivel de elaboración y prolijidad gastronómico que uno espera de un plato de ese precio. Sin embargo, está en casi el mismo precio que los platos de carne tan enormes como para llenarte todo el día (estaba en AR$450, comparado con las costillas, que era una porción enorme en AR$500, o el cerdo: AR$550 y tan grande que mi pareja no lo pudo terminar). Cuando lo observé al mozo, en vez de disculparse intentó argumentar que se supone que es una comida light, pero no dice eso en el menú y está al lado de los platos fuertes. Si querés comer sin carne, es mejor ir a los lugares alrededor del mercado.

This was not as great as I hoped for it to be. We came here to have dinner, and the food was mediocre. While I would not go so far as to say it was bad, it definitely wasn't especially good either and I felt like I could have cooked it better myself afterwards.
