One of the best spots in the city. Guillermo Blumenkamp, the owner, together with bartenders Luis and Ariel, prepare the best and most specialized cocktails. As the sign inside the place says "This is not for everyone". They prepare their cocktails using very specific recipes and drinks, following a very strict code. This can be seen in the attention to detail they pay to not only the amount of drinks they use for the cocktails, but also to the shape and form of the ice they use, and also to the glass each cocktail uses so that it stands out. Although the place itself is very cozy and comfortable all around, in order to take in the atmosphere that the cocktails and meals offer, the best place to sit is at the bar. From that place, the abilities of Guillermo, Luis and Ariel can be much more appreciated. The food the place offers is great (I recommend the Triunvirato Vermú) but it does not match up to the quality you can get from the cocktails prepared here. If you are on the lookout for a place that really strives for creative quality in the making of cocktails, look no further than...
Read morescrew it! Throw your prejudices out the window before entering this bar. Thought you'd never be able to drink Cynar? Add PunteMes and Fernet and watch firsthand as those ugly ducklings, once mixed, turn into beautiful swans that will astonish and awe in a complex, creative, multifaceted and redonculously tasty drink; aptly named "Hombre Nuclear". It is probably the best cocktail I've ever tried. But be warned : it is as far away from a cosmo as you'll ever come!
Do you like Negroni? Well, you should try their version of "Mi Primer" Negroni and watch how each sip somehow magically packs more and more heat from the jalapeno.
I could go on and on, but the bottom line is this : I tried three cocktails there ; one was good, and the remaining two were amongst the best cocktails I've had in my life. Guillermo and crew are mad geniouses and if you're ever on the continent (IE, latin America), you'd be doing yourself a favor by dropping by here... I'll most...
Read moreAn amazing bar. My favorite in BA. The staff is incredibly friendly and inviting and the food is very good but the cocktails are the main attraction here and they are exceptional. They're a bit pricy by Argentinian standards but they a bargain compared to comparable bars in the US. The skill level of the bartenders is very high and the drinks are, if not works of art, then the height of craftsmanship. If you like amargos you'll love this place. But be warned, they do not offer beer, wine or soda and you won't get an ordinary rum and Coke or Campari and naranja here but why would you want something ordinary anyway when you can have something really special? They will make a non-alcoholic drink if necessary but it will be almost as elaborate as the cocktails. A good mix of locals and tourists. English is spoken here so don't worry if you can't speak Spanish. Very highly...
