One of the absolute best hot spots in Buenos Aires and for a very good reason. La Choripaneria is a must visit and they know it too. People will queue for hours to experience the epitome of Argentinian cuisine.
Like every entity that strives for excellence and regularly meets their own ridiculously high operational standards, La Choripaneria oozes with greatness and a small whiff of rightfully owned arrogance.
Choripan is a staple in Argentine culture and I understand why. It might be my favourite Argentinian dish so far and if you want to get one of the best choripan, you'd better get it here. I'd recommend the 'Classic' to get that original taste and one of the more daring options to see what this sandwich is capable of.
The staff was friendly and the service was very quick, they know there are a lot of mouths to feed but don't feel rushed. Eat at your own pace. The Sunday Market will create a very busy environment where it's kind of difficult to navigate the area. This also means that you'll be queuing for a long while for a taste of choripan, or any other food for that matter. If you're one of the lucky ones to get a spot, I hope you don't mind eating with people literally waiting behind you to get to your seat the second you stand up, it's THAT good! So I recommend visiting on weekdays and wait for a spot. Either at the bar itself or at a table a few...
Read moreMy partner and I went here for lunch while we were in Buenos Aires. The food was good, but it rang up to 250 pesos. I handed the server a 500 peso note and he gave us 50 in change. I think he assumed that since we were american we either wouldn't notice, wouldn't care, or wouldn't have enough grasp of Spanish to ask about the missing change. Bad assumption, because I do speak enough Spanish to have caught on, I asked for my money, and then understood what he was saying as he told his coworker that we had asked for the missing 200 pesos which she promptly took out of her pocket instead of the register to give to us. I don't mind tipping, but the employees were blatantly trying to rip off what they assumed to be an unaware foreigners. Shame on them. Anyone who goes here should watch out for this kind...

I ordered a stout—dark, bold, and honestly, if it were a person, we’d be dating by now. I didn’t try the food and now I feel more guilt than when you ignore your grandma’s call. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The WiFi works, they accept contactless payments, and that already puts them in the 21st century—a rare thing in some spots. Next time I go back—and clearly I must—it’ll be with an appetite...
