Where do I begin? I came here with 3 other friends looking for a great steak dinner in Buenos Aires. For an appetizer, we ordered the assorted cheeses and cured meats. There was one cheese in the dish and a couple of cured meats, along with an egg salad, eggs, eggplant, and a couple of other items. The cured meats were fine; unfortunately, I can’t say the same about the rest of the appetizer. It only gets worse from here. I ordered a gran reserva Malbec from Mendoza for the table. The waiter brings out the reserva and when I question it mentioning that I had asked for the gran reserva, he was adamant that it was the right bottle. Not being too familiar with Argentinian wine labeling and regulations, I reluctantly obliged. The wine was good nonetheless. Now, we’re going to move on to the main course. We ordered 4 different steaks and cream potatoes. 3 of the steaks were edible, the 4th steak was tough as a tire. The 3 that were edible weren’t seasoned or rested properly. One of them was medium well despite being ordered medium rare. The cream potatoes were unseasoned as well. This is where things get even more interesting. I ordered another bottle of wine and told the server that we wanted to get the gran reserva this time not the reserva. He brought out a different bottle from a different region and I had to point out to him that it wasn’t gran reserva or from Mendoza. He and another server come back with a different bottle from Mendoza that STILL wasn’t gran reserva but they were adamant that it was the right bottle. We already had our steaks at this point so I told them to open it and we’d drink it. The wine was fine but again, not what I had wanted or ordered. When we finally got the check after eating, I had pointed out that we had been charged for the gran reserva wine despite not getting it and the server then told us that the wine list hadn’t been updated and that the bottle we got was the same price, but something different. The still charged us for the bottle we hadn’t ordered, so we decided not to argue any further and just paid the difference and didn’t leave a tip. Unacceptable service. Unacceptable food....
Read moreFirst, even if they have available unreserved tables, they make people wait for a long time before showing a table. And their attitude was not welcoming at all. They look like they don’t want people coming to the restaurant?! We were four people and asked for 1 medium and 2 well done bife de chorizo and all three of them came as medium rare. 1 one us wanted to have medium ojo de bife, the waiter insisted to serve “ojo de bife” as jugoso, but it came as rare bleu, almost alive. It ruined our Argentine steak experience and the staff was so reckless that we abstained from discussing this with the waiter and just struggled eating the meat and didn’t have any appetite at all. We knew that if they would take the meats and cook it back again second time, it would be like tire and so chewy. For this awful experience we paid 24.000pesos which doesn’t worth at all. It is funny that the only good thing was the wine, Trumpeter which is not something they prepared. The decoration and the building itself was also beautiful and eclectic. It would be more efficient if it would be a museum. So I don’t recommend eating in this place at all! There are many underrated good parillas in...
Read moreWe came here since we saw some reviews online that this place was one of the restaurants to visit while in BA. Somehow, we were left quite disappointed. We started with a Provoleta which was delicious, some of us ordered an Aperol Spritz, which tasted like water with a hint of Aperol, it wasn’t even fizzy, the waiter was kind enough to bring a new one but the drink was unchanged. Then we ordered different cuts of meat which they said that the cooking point would be “juicy”, though it was practically raw and not juicy at all (I don’t think raw meat is juicy), the T-bone stake was actually cold in the middle (looks like they undercook the food so that they can cut it with a spoon), the 5 of us sent the meat back for cooking and then it was actually alright but the experience to get to that point was unnecessary. At the end we pointed that we didn’t even drink the spritz and the waiter pointed out that they don’t have a bartender instead of being apologetic (just don’t offer the drink if you can’t make it decent). All in all, not the best experience, there are plenty of other restaurants in BA that offer quality, excellent service and even...
