I have bought a bottle of Achaval Ferrer Malbec 2017 which cost 750 pesos. When I opened it I realized it became bad. It had a brown color and taste of vinegar. I went to the wine shop and asked to exchange it. They refused to change it and told me that I should contact the winery. I live in Buenos Aires for 12 years. Sometime you are unlucky and the wine turns to be bad. It is a low probability but it happens. All wine shops always replace bad wine or return your money. First time in my life I faced refusal from the wine shop to exchange the bad wine. It looks like they work mainly for tourists who pass by, buy wine, and never return. La Malbequería is the wine bar, Lo de Jesús is the iconic parrilla next door, and here you get the best of both worlds. The wine list is deep with excellent Argentine labels, and the service is attentive without being rushed. From the kitchen, the provoleta comes bubbling with a perfect crust, the burrata salad is mixed tableside, and the milanesa napolitana is crispy, cheesy, and full of flavor. The bread service with olive oil, chimichurri, and salsa criolla sets the tone perfectly.
