Parrilla Reencuentro — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

expats especially…..never go to the is restaurant. There were 4 of us. The lucky person had his meat overcooked and hardly ate his meal. The other two had severely undercooked steaks to the point of it being a health concern. The fourth was served practically raw chicken. I addressed it with the owner and he surprisingly gave me attitude. The excuse given by the owner was that there were some new guys working the grill. Meanwhile the owner never went back to the grill once to ensure quality control or to even have a word about the raw meat. There was no offer to make things better or discount anything. Only attitude and arrogance were received. One of our group members informed the owner that we would not be paying. He then said that I need to come by and THANK him for involuntarily not charging us. This is the worst restaurant experience I’ve had in all of Argentina along with shockingly poor and arrogant “service”. Had a good steak dinner here for my birthday. We had the bife de chorizo and the ojo de bife. The steaks were ok but it appeared the quality of the meat was not the best. The restaurant is nicely decorated with a good atmosphere. It was quite busy when we left. The wine was delicious with a good wine list. The menu in general is good with lots of choices. The prices are good, cheaper than other steak Houses which is reflected in the meat quality. It was good steak but other steak houses are better in the area. The staff are amazing though. Very friendly and welcoming. They gave me a small cake and Prosecco as it was my birthday. The provoleta cheese starter was delicious. We had a good meal, I just was just slightly disappointed...

Food was great, and the service was fast enough.

Server tried to upsell me a couple of times which is fine, I get it. But I ended up feeling disappointed before I left.

I ordered my favorite cut of steak (Bife De Chorizo) after seeing it on the menu. I guess I didn’t look down far enough to see there was a bigger, more expensive option. So, I didn’t clarify which I wanted but neither did the server so it seems like they took that as an opportunity to just ring up the more expensive option and my bill ended up being more than I expected.

I didn’t complain because ~$10,000 just isn’t enough for me to deal with an argument over but I definitely won’t feel comfortable...
