I dined in this faux Japanese garbage hole last night.
Service: Upon entering, I patiently waited at the front. A 6 person group lined up behind me. The front desk check in girl, ignored me and went to the 6 behind me. There was an uncomfortable pause from the group behind me while she did this. After she came back to me and I strongly mentioned her faux pas ...she feigned an apology. There is a theme here.
After we were seated. The front desk girl asked if we spoke both Spanish and English, I asked for someone who was bilingual. This didn't happen. The front desk girl was bilingual btw.
The waitress tried to serve me cold sake in a champagne glass. We explained my lactose allergy, yet 2 rolls came out with cheese. The salmon ceviche was an insipid mess swimming in some type of bottled miso teriyaki sauce.
Asked for a manager. Was told, no manager was there who spoke English. My Argentinian guest doesn't have my food experience to explain. So we left.
The service was poor and slow. I had to firmly explain that I wanted my bill immediately. It still took 10 mins.
Food: rolls were garbage sashimi ...4 pieces were standard amuse Boucher .. a mess of mashed potatoes and passion fruit. Of course, ignoring my stated lactose intolerance. Fake apologies ensued. Salmon ceviche - brutal. I took one bite and was done. It tasted like fresh salmon in General Tso sauce. Shame for the fish to sit in that garbage sauce. i asked for a sake list and prices. The waitress brought out 5 bottles of sake and yet would not give the prices. Stupid of me to assume. It was a valuable lesson.
Overall: This was as far from a Japanese meal as I look like Brad Pitt. If you're a tourist who has any experience with proper Japanese food...avoid like the plague. Go get a phenomenal steak here for...
Read moreToday something happened to me that has never happened to me in 45 years of traveling around the world, we arrived at the Osaka restaurant in Buenos Aires, the time was 12.35 pm, and we made are order for 3 dishes,
in my section, which was the big section, there was only one table with 4 people, after 15 minutes 3 People Arrived who were sitting on our left ,
10 minutes later a couple arrived in front of us, and after 10 minutes 3 young Italian guys arrived,
what is interesting here is that everyone got their food and we are still waiting for our food. Everyone who came after us had finished the we hadn't even been served yet,
I called the weathers And complained she apologized and left, at 1:43 I got up and called another waiter to bring me the bill For the drinks Just then the waitress realized how bad the service was, I paid the bill and before I left I asked to speak to the person in charge of the shift,
Osaka is one of the most expensive restaurants In Buenos Aires, no one spoke English, most of the people who dine in Osaka are tourists, not many Argentines will pay for a dish between 25 and 50 dollars per dish.
The shift manager who claimed to Manager came and apologized and offered me to eat what I ordered for free,
I come to a luxury restaurant Not to be a beggar thought he really didn't understand public relations And how to deal with customers., I have Restaurants myself and I couldn't believe it was possible to disrespect customers in such a...
Read moreI went with a foreigner friend and the restaurant TRIED TO STEAL US. We paid a part in cash and the rest in credit card (where tip was already included) I indicated the waiter the exact amount he should charge in credit card, when we reviewed the bank statement after we’ve just paid we saw they have charged 63% more than what I told the waiter to charge. I asked for explanations, and he got nervous telling me that they charged more because a “country tax” which credit cards issued abroad don’t have it. After a few minutes he didn’t know what other excuse say and he returned the extra money they have charged. The food was great but what they did is a crime. I wouldn’t recommend you going if you don’t speak Spanish because they will try to take advantage of you, IT’S JUST A DISGUSTING ATTITUDE. I’m not going back. NEFASTO LUGAR.
