Visiting the Buque Museo Fragata A.R.A. "Presidente Sarmiento" in Buenos Aires is like stepping back into maritime history. This late 19th-century training ship, now a floating museum, offers a fascinating glimpse into naval life of yesteryears. Exploring the ship's well-preserved decks and cabins, I was captivated by the array of historical artifacts on display, including vintage weapons, clothing, and navigational tools. The highlight for me was the panoramic view of the river and the iconic Puente de la Mujer from the deck. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and eager to share insights about the ship's storied past. With an affordable entrance fee and the option to explore parts of the ship for free, it's an experience I highly recommend to anyone visiting...

The history was very detailed and for my first time actually going on the boat it was very insightful. Going below is cool because they have a lot of historic objects that makes the history lesson a little more like traveling to the past. To see the people and background helps you realize more about the life aboard. The cost to get on was I believe 20 pesos Nov-Dec2019 but we know that might and could change. Just wanted to add the price so people might know. If I am wrong please correct me. Well worth a quick tour and great for families...

This was an unexpected gem for us during our time in Buenos Aires. We just stumbled upon the ship when exploring Puerto Madero and are so happy we did. The history of the ship and its voyages throughout the world during the late 19th century is super interesting. You get to explore the captains quarters as well as a typical cabin for the soldiers. It's not a huge ship, so it was surprising to find out how many trips they were able to do around the world. I would definitely recommend!!! And it's a very cheap fare to enter the museum.
