Parrilla "San Cayetano" — Restaurant in Autonomous City of Buenos Aires

We didn't eat here. But we went there for dinner one night but could not sit inside as only a table for four was available and we were only two people - they would not accept us sitting there. But ok, we accepted to sit outside. There they have camping chairs that we really do not like to sit in for dinner and normal chairs at larger tables. Two ladies was sitting at those less good chairs, no one else was there. We sat down by the table with the normal chairs. Waited a very long time for a waiter to come with a menu card. When she came out she informed us that the table was only for 3 or more people and pointed to the bad chairs. I made it clear that I was not going to sit there so only option left was to leave. And with four empty tables (room for 6 people at each table) with normal chairs I will never understand the need for a restaurant to make those kind of rules. I would have liked to review their food but will not be back - customer service is important and they don't...

I was staying just a few minutes away and the owner of the apartment recommended this restaurant. From the outside, it looked unlikely, but I had what was probably my best steak in Buenos Aires. The Bife de Lomo was tender and full of flavour. I went to a well rated place in the San Telmo Mercado a couple of days later and the meat wasn't cooked nearly as well as this.

Inside, it was a real old fashioned neighbourhood place, with locals and families eating when I was there I had an empanada and a steak (I did make a mistake because I thought the the steak would come with accompaniments - but it didn't! I didn't leave hungry though). The neighbourhood is very residential with lots of eating places like this and bakeries, grocery shops, cafes etc.

The service was great - and thanks to my server Amir, whose English was way better...

It's just okay. I read some reviews and thought it was going to be a great experience. Waitresses available and fast responsiveness, however they didn't gave me at least 1 tissue. I ordered some chicken and it was cooked on point, couldn't tell the same for the fries: they were cooked and microwaved before server. If you are looking for a great stunning place to eat, well this isn't the place you may visit. I can assure that the food is good, the place looks good and the attention is quite good. You will pay for the service you get and that's it. It's just okay. Nice...
