Ordered nachos which was a bunch of stale corn chips and a tiny portion of avacado a few tomatoes cut up to the side. At this stage I was hesitant but I gave the mains meal a try to see maybe it would get better.
I ordered 2 veggies burritos - most of the burrito was dry flakey tortilla for the filling a stingy table spoon or rice, 1 slice of capsicum on the inside it was bland and dreadful. The size of the burrito was no bigger than 10cm x 5cm (one single tortilla that wrapped around 2 times) I took 2 bites both bites where of tortilla no filling.
I couldn’t continue I then called the waitress and said I refuse to eat this as it is not a burrito I followed by saying I will only pay for the nachos as the main was in palatable.
She returned explaining that the owner said I have to pay regardless so I went and explained to the owner that the food we got serviced is not satisfying and we are were not happy. He argued to say he never had a problem ever with the food and why did I eat here in the first place, I said I was happy to pay for what I ate (the nachos)but I will not be forced to eat something that isn’t eatible for that price. At this stage the arrogance had gotten the better of him and customer satisfaction does not exist.
The owner then said he would call the police on us because I mentioned I refused to pay for those 2 burritos.
I took it further the food was only $400 of local currency so I wanted to see if he would actually call the police on me for this and he actually did. After I settled to pay the full amount, surly this small amount of one payment could have been settled way more professional!
So Im letting the public know the truth truth.
The rules Che Taco run by can become extremely contradictory because Che Taco could have served a single tortilla and a little slice of tomato and I would still have to pay for something so disgusting.
This is extremely backwards thinking and never have experiences such putrid service from a resturant In the whole entire world through Europe, Australia, pacific islands, Asia, Caribbean,Middle East And all north-central-south America’s of dining out.
I then followed by researching if this is something that is Normal in Argentina regarding service and it’s utterly wrong what this resturant has done, bullied by police to being forced to pay for a disgusting sickening meal or be locked up.
Be warned never to enter this disgusting dirty, foul greedy pig house because regardless of how unhappy you are you will have to pay!
This will catch up on his business and will not survive. There are amazing restaurants with quality and perfection right in this exact street (across the road) with real service called El Banco Rojo the tacos are superb no need for Che Taco waste your money on rancid food, it’s the worst...
Read moreI'd had a horribly disappointing torta from this location, shared with me by a friend, which had nothing whatsoever to do with Mexican cuisine and traditions; so I wasn't looking forward to trying Che Taco's tacos, but a group of friends insisted. It was a Monday night and everywhere else we wanted to eat was closed.
I'll just cut to the chase: the tacos weren't bad and the hot sauces were pretty good. But without the latter I would have given only two stars, as the meat in both the carne and al pastor tacos was too dry and not particularly flavorful. The pork only faintly resembled succulent, smoky Mexican al pastor. We were given the choice of corn or wheat tortillas. Of course we chose corn and I'm glad they asked.
Our margaritas were delicious, however, although I'm no cocktail expert. Happy-hour craft beer is only 60 pesos until 8.
Still hungry, we crossed the street to try Masa's pop-up tacos at El Banquito Rojo, which was closed when we first got hungry. Priced at 70 pesos each, they're not as good a deal as Che Taco's (at 3 for 160) but they're loaded with flavor and texture, more inspired by Mexican cuisine than trying to duplicate it. I had a good pork carnitas taco with shredded cabbage, pickled onions (I think) and chipotle-peanut salsa. Not quite convinced about the latter, I still enjoyed it more...
Read moreWe asked for food to go and, while the staff was super friendly and attentive, the food was far from good. The nachos were mostly onion and tasteless cheese (in cubes???) with almost no cream or beans. Not enjoyable at all but still the best out of our order.
The tacos were a rubber-like tortilla that wasn't even cooked with bland chicken, onion and tomato. Totally flavorless and with a weird texture. Still better than the burrito
The Al pastor burrito's meat was like biting an eraser and totally flavorless too. The tortilla was somehow damp and soggy both on the inside and out, cold despite the meat inside being still warm.
Honestly, I don't recommend this place at all and would never visit again. We paid 23k ars (about 18 use) for food we really didn't even finish, that's how bad it was. A complete disappointment.
Service was quick and...
