This is random choice for evening dinner. We were curious about the name!

NOT SURE WHAT IS “Central European” here is…. Maybe the interior decor that exudes some nondescript euro-setting albeit the deer antlers on the walls might suggest Austro-German.

The menu is a LONG AND TEDIOUS LIST of food without any description to help a dinner. Most do not ring European, except perhaps the Milanesa (schnitzel).

👎 The Milanesa de Lomo Fugazeta is an Argentinian twist of the schnitzel…. BUT THE LOMO IS DRY, it’s dryness cannot be rescued by the cheesy Fugazeta🫤🫤🫤.

🫤🫤🫤then there’s the Torta (tortilla) Española, an otherwise classic Spanish dish, that is ADULTERATED BY SLICES OF VERY VERY SALTY SAUSAGE…. why ruin a simple flavorful dish like this???…. Oh this needs more eggs…

Service is good. The ambience is good, though a little echoey with a...

Excellent food! We were served a glass of champange and bread on arrival. We then had the steak with pepper sauce, the steak was amazingly tender, good size portion, we asked for french fries and it was not a problem, we also order the chorizo rib eye and though a little chewyer than mine still excellent this only came with great saute onions so in addition ordered the asparagus with parmesan, yum! mind you they are not fresh but jared or tinned but we liked them. There was a lot of food but still had to try the crepes with dulce de leche what a good idea, they were fab, note just share one as you get two. A limoncello was brought over with our bill, home made best I've had. All in all a great night, lovely atmosphere. The restaurant has been going since 1907 you dont stay in business that long...

I must say, it’s fascinating to keep discovering German and Central European influences in Latin America. German cuisine is definitely one of the European gastronomy traits that is evident in the city. The menu of Zum Edelweiss, is massive and expansive. Schnitzel, Goulash, Steudels and much more. Steaks and pastas also abound. Service is excellent and the atmosphere is charming. Regrettably the food falls way short from matching up to the quality of service and character of the place. Food did not taste fresh and the pasta (raviolis) was quite dry. Perhaps having an expansive menu adversely impacts the food quality.

Wouldn't recommend if you want to eat good, delicious food. The food was edible but drowned in a sweet sauce leaving everything soggy and tasting strange. You get a "free aperetif" but are charged a service fee per person on your bill, which is just a scam. Also there is nothing german about the cuisine there. The wine that was offered as our aperitif was undrinkable. The atmosphere was nice but that's it. The taste would be more forgivable if it wasn't so expensive. Price for what you get makes no sense.
