Tonight was the worst experience I’ve ever had getting out to a show. This review is ONLY for the Executive Package - shuttle services and dinner. I booked this show a week in advance from the hotel I was staying at. When I was back in town from Patagonia, I had a different hotel. I called them to confirm the booking but they refused to pick me up at my new hotel, even though I paid extra for the executive package. I think that’s pretty ridiculous considering they stop at multiple locations around Palmero and Recoleta. I rushed out and had to order a taxi to trek it to over to the original hotel. They said to be there at 8pm. I arrived at 8pm and waited. I had the front desk manager call Tango Porteno to make sure everything was communicated properly for pickup. They confirmed pickup. 30 minutes go by and still no shuttle. The hotel manager calls again and they say it is on the way. 2 shuttles from other companies have already arrived and picked people up for other shows. I end up waiting FOR AN HOUR with no shuttle. The hotel manager makes another call and they say its still on the way. Four other shuttle companies have arrived and taken people to their shows. This is ridiculous and horrible service. FINALLY a shuttle arrives and looks at his list and calls 3 other people who have only been waiting 10 minutes and fails to mention my name. He is about to walk out and the Hotel Manager asks where he is going and the driver says Tango Porteno. He finally agrees to take me. FINALLY. I don’t even get the courtesy of an apology for sitting there for an hour and not getting my name mentioned. What a joke. I would rather have paid $3 US to cab it there at 830. The whole point of a shuttle is for CONVENIENCE. Train your employees better. Customer service is horrible. When I arrive the theater is almost completely full, everyone has been served dinner and I’m placed to the side. Keep in mind I made reservations a WEEK in advance and my seats should have been much better. While there were a lot of food options, the empanadas were dry, and the main course - the meat - was fatty, dried out, and tasted bland. No salt or pepper on the table. No butter for the bread. Waiters were very attentive. It’s a shame the food was bad. I asked for pasta instead and they would not switch it for me. Not worth the $100+ for poor service. My advice, save yourself 50-80 bucks and do the show only (it was fantastic). It was probably the worst meal I’ve had in my 3 weeks in Argentina. If you value your time in Argentina don’t do anything less that the basic show only package. I hope this save you...

The place is huge! You're sitting cheek by Joel & I felt really sorry for those who turned up after 8:30...their meals would have been very rushed. I paid for the dinner and show, so, to the meal: for 1st course I had grilled aubergine with a tomato/capsicum(?) based sauce, bocconcini & a mix of lettuce leaves...a bit ho hum really. Aubergine is really difficult to make interesting and needs a spicy or herb/vinegar dressing; this wasn't the case here. The main was a beautiful piece of beef, sadly overdone; given I'd requested the meat to be 'rare' I was disappointed it was medium at best, still a nice piece of meat. The steak came with a 'block' of potato which had been boiled, mashed, formed into a loaf and then baked, again rather dry and tasteless. The dessert was another matter all together, it was scrumptious and if anything a little over the top... chocolate mousse with caramel layer and a touch of cream and droplets of rose water(?). Very acceptable. The wines as you would imagine are pretty ordinary; but the reality is people are ordering different meals and so you are provided a red or white wine choice. As I had arrived early my meal was reasonably relaxed, with space between courses but for most they would barely have finished one course when the next was served. Now to the show: prior to the show beginning there are some of the performers there to have photos taken with you, which you will buy at some inflated cost; I didn't so I have no idea how much they cost. The show is a cabaret focussing on the Tango; the dancers are good and the show is enjoyable. I was rather perplexed at the 'cowboy/twirling' gig but people seemed to enjoy this bit of non-tango in the Tango show. The gentleman who sings is talented and I enjoyed his performances. The magician prior to the show is excellent, funny and perfect for a warm up. The accompanying band is superb! They appeared to always be enjoying themselves and the music they performed was first rate, well done. All up, not a bad way to...

Lovely exterior that is hard to miss. The staff outdoors and indoors are very friendly and helpful to any situation like our group had. We had tickets already purchased but had a friend last minute decide to come. They staff was very accommodating and allowed us to purchase an extra ticket with no issues or delay on their part!

You go into the area and they have your group walk down towards the front table areas and sit together. Depending on the price of your ticket you get certain perks. We paid around $145 or so for our experience. You essentially order your three courses/dishes and are allotted a good amount of time to eat them and get unlimited drinks.

Between your food and the show they have performers come down to take photos with your table as a group. But then after that they try to pair the male performer with a woman in your group for a photo and the female performer with a man in your group (same goes for couples) for an individual photo. If you’re in a relationship this will be a surprise but you can decline the offer (it may take a few tries like it did for me lol). But before the show starts they offer you the rendered pictures and you can politely decline with no issues.

The performance part of the experience itself is roughly 2 hours and well worth the money and time! As non Spanish speakers we could follow along well and felt like the performance was telling a story in multiple parts.

I would go again in the future with my partner and more friends/family! The staff are all very kind and patient. The food itself may not be the best in my group and I’s opinion but it truly depends on what dishes you order.

Hope you enjoy the experience like we...

Go somewhere else!!! Not sure where the 5 star reviews came from. We booked through a travel agent and it's USD 100 per person. At the time the FX rate was19.5 pesos. We arrived early and asked whether the seats were good and got reply saying there are all reserved seats. We ended up to the corner in the front where the view is ruined and the theatre was only 25-30% full. So at least the ticketing service was terrible as she could have explained better, such as if we wanted better seats, we could pay some extra. Food was mediocre, just mediocre. They made the dinner time so long, not because they serve you a lot food, but they have so called photographer and tango dancers come to take photos with you and sell them to you later. I know very well that Tango was born in BA during the chaotic times and other stuff. But here they just want to monetize it. It's not s place about art, culture or joy, but just commercialized tourism. You should spend 3 precious hours in BA and money on sometime else for sure. Adding: for my Angus beef, the waiter didn't ask how I want it, and it came WELL DONE! For this place, default angus beef steak should be cooked WELL DONE!!! See photo
