I took my petit colon to The Petit Colon on a Thursday afternoon and sat under a much coveted umbrella on their patio overlooking the park across the street. An excellent people watching spot. Ordered a glass of Melbec naturally which came with a healthy pour, I was happy to see :) ordered a scone…not sure why…was wavering between that and a bay biscuit to snack on but since I have no idea what a bay biscuit is, I settled on a scone. Mistake. Almost broke a tooth trying to nibble on the thing. Shed a tear as I remembered what real scones are supposed to taste like. My server who was teetering between tolerance and aloofness, brought me some sparkling water, chips and an unknown thing that looked marshmallow like but I think had some sort of meat in it. My veggie senses were frightened of it. This was all just part of the experience - these little extras which I thought were nice additions.

Two men came over to talk to me (at separate times) as I sat alone trying to swallow my scone, so it is a ‘friendly’ spot. One of them tried to sell me a magazine. I offered him my marshmallow meat sandwich and even HE declined.

The inside was very atmospheric too! Washrooms are good. (That’s always important)

Overall hovering between a 3.5 - 4 but rounded it up since I still have a slight wine buzz from the Melbec;)

Overall a good way to waste an afternoon and test your...

After getting very disappointed at Cafe Tortoni! Having breakfast at Petit Colon was simply a treat! Beautiful place, with a view on the park and green space! Not too busy, very relaxing atmosphere with beautiful classic music and excellent service... I loved everything about it from the moment I stepped in! Service was excellent, food was a delight (many choses of fine tea, coffees, well done sandwiches, and excellent bakery), pricing was very reasonable and on top of that we got 2 croissants for free as a treat from the restaurant! And the most important things for me that staff knows how to treat you very elegantly and make you feel special and that’s all about you and your comfort! They simply made my morning and my day! And my experience in Petit Colon made me feel I am in the little Paris of South America while I am in Buenos Aries! Highly recommended for breakfast...

Petit Colón is an absolute gem. Located just steps from Teatro Colón, this café blends Belle Époque charm with a classic Buenos Aires vibe. The interior is stunning—wood paneling, brass fixtures, chandeliers, and velvet details give it a nostalgic, elegant atmosphere.

I stopped by for breakfast, and everything was delicious. We had coffee, hot chocolate with churros, medialunas with ham, cheese and scrambled eggs and alfajor dor dessert, The service was very professional and courteous. It’s a great spot for breakfast or an afternoon break, especially if you’re exploring the nearby theater district or looking for a quiet corner near Tribunales.

Prices are a bit higher than average, and that is the only reason I gave them 4 stars.

Definitely recommended if you’re looking to experience a bit of old Buenos Aires charm in a refined and...
