Venancio Parrilla Restaurant — Restaurant in Puerto Iguazú

I came here for dinner because of the reviews and honestly it was so disappointing. I don't know what people are talking about. We even walked 17 minutes to get here. Overpriced, terrible quality food and unprofessional staff.

We came in when there was only 1 table being served. We sat ourselves down as the other staff in the store ignored us. I immediatley felt uncomfortable because the chef kept staring point blank at us through the kitchen opening. I'm not sure why the hostility and whether it was because we are foreigners.

What was the most disappointing aspect is being blatanly discriminated against. We were served the tiniest 2 slices of mini bread roll pieces as many restaurants provide this complimentary. We laughed at it and thought why bother even giving us this, but thought ok maybe it's just the way it is. But to our astonishment another spanish speaking couple who came in after and sat behind us was served 4 FULL bread rolls! That's right not just slices but 4 full rolls.

We ordered the meat tasting for 2 and asked for the steaks to be medium rare and even emphasised that the meat be pink in the middle - it came out medium well. Breaded prawns were ok.

A great 5* Restaurant, if you're looking for an experience that is well worth a memory instead of the masses of tourists in the others. We enjoyed incredibly good meat, amazing vegetables and great wine - all accompanied by the musician Lorenzo who played local as well as well known songs on his guitar. Apart from him being an amazing guitarist, the volume was also perfectly calm for a night out and not interfering with our experience at all. Our waitress johana treated us very well, was very attentive and a great help picking the food. The price is unbelievable, I would be expecting 3x-4x the price for the quantity and quality of food we got. I would come back to this city just for this restaurant. I hope more people...

Bueno fuimos a Venancio a cenar el domingo 30 de abril de 2023 para los 50 años de mi mamá. Todas las estrellas son por la maravillosa mesera que nos atendió super bien, rápido y haciendo chistes, muy amable. Supongo que también porque en general el lugar era lindo y el baño re limpio. Después lo que es comida, más valía irnos en colectivo y comer unos choripanes en el carrito de la señora afuera de la reserva Güira Oga. Que por la plata que gastamos acá, nos hubiéramos comprado como 17 choripanes con salsa criolla (no exagero, hice la cuenta, ponele que 14 y te compras varias gaseosas). Entiendo que para dos adultos y un niño, $15.000 en abril-mayo 2023 no es tanto, si por lo menos hubiera disfrutado la comida. Mientras esperabas habia unos pancitos y una compotera con aceitunas, que ya de por si es raro, en vez de salsa o algo para untar. La carne desabrida, media dura, un solo trocito me gustó (salsa criolla o algo de eso no tenían, solo chimichurri de botella) y las papas criollas no se que onda, casi todas me tocaron duras, como si las hubiera cocinado yo cuando tenía 13 años y no sabía que las tenes que probar antes de sacarlas. Pensé que eran fritas pero la verdad no se, eran muy blancas para eso. Tenían cebolla, media cabeza de ajo y perejil (creo, algo verde). Capaz soy yo, pero papas sin gracia y carne dura para el cumpleaños de mi mamá me pareció una pena. Una ensalada hubiera alegrado un poco el tema, pero me imagino cuanto más hubiera salido, y tal vez era un tomate y media lechuga. Si hubiéramos estado en casa, gastaba como mucho 4mil y le hacía pollo a la naranja con puré y nos chupabamos los dedos. Pero bueno, todo sea por las cataratas. El postre lo más rico, y aún así más o menos. El flan bien, pero la crema rara, como cuando la batidora es más rápida de lo que pensaste y casi se te va la mano y la salvas justo de hacerse manteca. El tiramisú chico y con arándanos, que a mamá le gustaron pero a mí dame tiramisú clásico y listo. Tal vez justo no elegimos lo mejor o justo fue una de esas noches sin suerte, pero basado en mi experiencia no lo recomenderaría, menos para una ocasión que justo salís por primera vez a pasear y...
