Alfresco Pizza E Cucina — Restaurant in Adelaide

been to this restaurant a couple of times - not regularly tho. we booked a table one night recently - I did a special mention that it was going to be for a special dinner on a special occasion, however when we arrived, no greeting near the door, we saw 1 waitress close to the counter in the back (1 young guy making pizza's in kitchen), we walked to her & greeted her saying we booked and gave details - she seemed unaware of our booking and special requirement re the table, we got told to choose to sit wherever. It was very quiet (around 7pm), about 3 or 4 customers (they had their meals and some ended up doing a t/a - didnt stay very long). there was no atmosphere, the restaurant was a bit warm too (unsure if a/c was capable to cool the room down?)... I felt a bit hot and sweaty while sitting there. Around 7.30pm, we got told the door was going to shut (so, we only ate for about 15 - 20mins then we had to rush to try to finish the bottle of red and pack up lots of leftover food). It was not ideal as a place for a special night / special occasion - it was more like a random t/a shop. Wasnt worth spending lots of money for a relaxing meal which was what we expected. Wouldnt go back for a proper dine in - it might be just ok with a quick pizza t/a...

Been there a couple of times and had a good experience however our last visit was very poor. Although the food was still superb, the service was terrible. There were two waiters overlapping each other along for drink and meal orders. Only 3 out of 4 drinks arrived with wine and no glass. When asked for wine glasses we only got 2? After asking three times for a wine glass I went and got my own from the desk. When the main meals came we only got 2 of 4 and then the table next to us got delivered 2 of 4? It was 2 minutes before we got the third meal and another 10 before the last. It was the same with the other table next to us and we both wondered why it wasn't served by table. After the meals were delivered we asked for pepper and was given a shaker with one peppercorn in it so asked for another only to be given another empty one. It took the cheap to give us some in a small dish as all the pepper grinders were empty. After that we were pretty much ingnored by the staff and would have loved to stay and enjoy more wine. I went here one time for a friends birthday and the pizza was amazing. I went there a second time, I got a margarita and it tasted different to the average margarita. I didn’t like it but I think maybe it’s cos I had only ever had domino’s, and this is the real Italian stuff!! However my mums pizza was amazing. Cooked very well. Even the margarita I have to say was cooked to perfection.

Staff was absolutely lovely, we sat outside and the atmosphere was amazing. Going there again, I’m going to try the pasta.
