I had high hopes for Bacchus Bar, but last nightâs experience was incredibly disappointing. Everything started off fine until I ordered a margarita (the cocktail, not the pizza). Coming from a Latin background, I love trying margaritas wherever I go, so I decided to give theirs a shot. Unfortunately, it was a huge letdown.
While Iâve had worse margaritas before, the real issue here wasnât just the drinkâit was the terrible customer service. At $22, I expected at least some effort. When I politely asked the bartender, a man with a long beard (who also claimed to be the owner), to taste it himself to see what might have gone wrong, his response was dismissive and rude. He told me, âWhen you own a bar, you can create your own,â and added, âNext time, you can come and make yours.â
What he didnât know is that Iâve owned a bar in another country and have worked in the industry for over 10 years. I know how cocktails should taste and, more importantly, how customers should be treated. Unfortunately, Bacchus Bar failed miserably on both counts.
If youâre looking for a place with good drinks and respectful service, Iâd suggest going elsewhere. I certainly wonât be returning.

Read moreI have never been so badly treated in a venue as by the staff member - manager? - who bowled up to me and told me to "use my manners" and accused me of being rude to another staff member. I had not been rude in any way - I'd simply asked him (politely) if he wanted to take the table number, to avoid confusion as two other people not with me had joined the table and may have wanted to order separately. He didn't hear me the first time so I had to say it again, louder and point to the number. What happened to 'The customer is always right'? Apparently the customer is wrong here even when they were right in the first place. Thank you for ruining my afternoon and any future visits to the Latin sundays... maybe get your facts straight before you accost customers and start accusing them of things they haven't done. Maybe try using your manners. You can take your $7 coffee and put it where it fits... and if that's not...
Read morePrior to attending a function today at this business, as my partner and I have a gluten free and dairy free diet, during the week I tried to find a menu online but could not locate one. I tried phoning the business twice to enquire about the menu, even during business hours, but the call went to a prerecorded message. Today we were at the business for lunch and we discovered there were very few items which could meet our dietary requirements. We both settled on a salad with a piece of grilled fish. To our disappointment each meal came with a bowl of mixed lettuce leaves, a few olives and some cherry tomatoes and only half of a tastless small fish fillet. The fish fillet was actually shared across the two meals. For the cost of $21 per meal it was disgusting what we...
