Cheeky Greek (Henley Beach) — Restaurant in Adelaide

Most people coming from the beach in search of quick bite go to the yiros shop on the square. Very nice as well, but...long lines waiting to order and people squatted in front waiting for their wrap. For a fast food shop very good, but hi demand at certain times makes sloppy work. Cant blame anyone. Fortunately the Cheeky Greek comes to the rescue. Positioned across the road 20m to the right. A new intake on yiros: one can choose from 2kinds of yiros , the usual and the Cheeky one: a variation on the traditional (oh dear, the end of the world is near), with ie. fresh curly parsley. Everyone to it's own, but not mine..it doesn't boost or add the flavour. But...the "traditional" one is really, really good. Horizontal roasted above charcoal adds more flavour by not loosing the gravy as would happen vertically. And crust.... The time between ordering and receiving is awesome. Being european born I don't have the patience to stand in line for 5 minutes to order and 15 to receive a soggy but tasteful yiros. Not_of_this_age. By the time I had a perfect yiros, crusty, tasty, not over salty, no dripping tomatoes and passing the line at the square the line hasn't moved much. But if I may: there's just one really thing I dont agree with is the use of aluminium foil. Not sustainable at all! And bloody annoying. So: great pita, great roast, really great friendly service by the girls and fast.. faster.. fastest good...

We frequent every three week's, all the way from the Barossa. I would have given 5 star rating but considering how many times our order was incorrect tonight🥺 Firstly the tub of tzatziki was missing..yes, was rectified. Then got 10 minutes down the road to realise the wrong yiros was made.. called to let staff know, went back for correct yiros. The staff member who made the mistake was rude! I repeated what my order was to make sure it was correct. Was told in a rude manner, yes. Proceeded drive home to then bite into the yiros… yes, wrong again 🙈 I am now eating a lamb yiros I never ordered. I understand mistakes are made.. but that many times for one customers order, I would suggest active listening on the young ladies part would help. Apart from tonight’s mishap I would like to say the food at this establishment is always delicious… that’s what keeps us...

Two words: delicious and PRICEY. for this tiny bowl of salad with some shredded meat and halloumi about $20, where just one piece of halloumi is $4. There are places where you can consider sharing a meal with a partner because it's really big but here you can't really expect even to get full with the whole portion for yourself. Now about the deliciousness. It is honestly very tasty and fresh (maybe meat was partially not well done, make sure you notify the kitchen how you like your meat. We forgot to say it should be well done 😅) The kitchen is opened and very clean. Seeing the kitchen being held in hygiene sends all the food poisoning worries away👌🏻🙂.

LOCATION: just in front of the bus stop, very convenient. And the you can get the Botega ice-cream, that's the place we recommend for sweets in...
