VikKoolPalate is back with another fabulous cafe that steals my heart every time. If a relaxed breakfast sets the tone for the day, then Malobo at Henley Beach Square ensures it starts on a high note. Nestled by Adelaide’s stunning coast, this café effortlessly blends vibrant energy with laid-back charm. In my view, Malobo offers an experience unrivaled by any other brekky spot or café in all of Adelaide. This time, I created my own version of a Big Brekky—scrambled eggs on toast paired with two fabulous sides of bacon rashers and chorizo sausages. The scrambled eggs were creamy perfection, the toast golden and crisp, while the bacon and chorizo added smoky, savory notes that elevated the meal to the next level. And the coffee? Simply put, it’s love in a cup. The staff add a personal touch to the experience. On my previous visit, Lokas, an Alex Carey (Aussie cricketer) lookalike, impressed with his calm and polished service. It felt like meeting an old buddy as we connected so effortlessly. Today, it was Ava, vibrant and full of life, who brightened the morning with her warm energy, radiant smile, and attentive service. Ava has an incredible knack for making each guest feel like the most important person in the room. Coupled with the genuine care of the entire staff, the experience at Malobo is elevated to something truly special. Malobo is where great food, exceptional coffee, and beachside vibes come together effortlessly. Whether it’s Lokas’s charm or Ava’s vibrance, the service is a perfect match for the quality of the meal. VikKoolPalate Tip: Sit outside, sip your coffee, and let Henley Beach Square work its magic. You’ll already be planning your next visit.

It is very unusual for me to visit a top-rated place but get a very negative experience. Unfortunately my 1st time visit in Malobo is way under my expectations. Although I have to admit the location and decor of the store is superb, and the service is not bad, however, the food and drink, which I believe is the soul of a restaurant, need triple more attentions than the current low standard. Seriously, as a social-media popular and Instagramable brunch cafe, the first thing you guys need to improve is the presentation of whatever you serve on the table. A latte without any latte art (flavor is just ordinary too) has already half ruined my first impression, the $25 Goodness Bowl that looks like a kid’s lunch box made by a careless step father, further break my appetite at all. The Goodness bowl, which literally makes me say “my goodness”, tastes so plain with the only flavor of the aioli sauce, half filled with cold rice that make me doubt if they forgot to put the meal into microwave before serve. The Breakfast Burrito taste not bad, but the kid-handful size definitely not match the price. And by the way, the chips tasted no better than McDonald’s at all. Overall, the $50 bill for two people doesn’t bring any pleasure to us at all.

MALOBO Recently refurbed and ready to review!!! one of the trendy go to breakfast, brunch, lunch, drinks or dinner spots on the square of Henley beach. Normally one of our go to Sunday morning stops for coffee and breakfast. Clean, comfortable, great menu, value for money. We are what we we call “ regulars “ which would be nice to be acknowledged each time we arrive, but does not happen. Cutlery needs replacing as appears to look dirty and dated. Coffee is ALWAYS on point and given how busy this place gets the wait time is definitely acceptable. Ingredients are ALWAYS fresh and presentation with food is incredible. Be sure to get a table outside if weather permitting and experience the atmosphere of the square. Staff are friendly and appear to enjoy working at MALOBO but the consistency of this can vary at times. Unfortunately the toilets are shared with adjoining neighbours and are in dire need of a refurbishment, I find myself using the public facilities as these are frequently maintained To the end this review I strongly recommend this eatery as I will continue to support and enjoy.

At last a restaurant in Henley Beach that is not a tired 'has been'. We visited for a quick lunch on a recent Friday afternoon and were pleasantly surprised by the interesting menu using fresh ingredients and some inspiration in the design of the dishes.

We opted for the "sweet potato & parmesan hash browns, asparagus, rocket, sticky balsamic, whipped olive feta, fried shallots, dill" which was on the breakfast menu (served until 3pm). A very satisfying dish with a nice balance of flavours. There could definitely be a bit less of the whipped olive feta on top and a bit more of the sticky balsamic, but that is a minor criticism. The "miso baked tasmanian salmon, soba noodles, edamame beans, cucumber, house pickled ginger" was a fabulous combination with a beautiful set of textures and tastes and a great umami flavour experience. Highly recommended, but mind the noodles flicking the miso on your shirt.

The wine and beer choices are good and more considered than other restaurants and bars in the vicinity. The young staff were friendly and helpful which is a pleasant change too.The table numbers, while a bit hip, don't work as the staff spend ages walking around with your order trying to identify the correct table.

If this team can keep up the standard then they will give the other places in Henley Square a run for their money which is about time as the quality, value and service in the area has been poor for a long time. A fabulous addition to Henley Beach and not...

My friend and I came here for Lunch today and ordered 2x beef noodle salads. We waited well over an hour for our food to arrive. About 50 mins in a waitress asked if we received our food and after telling her we did not she went to the bar to tell them. It seems as though they forgot our order as we waited another 25 minutes after that before the food arrived. It was very quiet so I'm not sure how they would miss an order.

When it finally arrived the waitress bought only 1 salad and questioned whether we ordered anything else. We told her we had ordered another beef noodle salad so she went back to the kitchen to check. The second salad came a few mins later and the waitress told us we would receive some discount for the inconvenience.

The salads themselves were extremely bland and had no dressing. It said they were served with chilli however did not have any chilli. My friend is 8 months pregnant hence had asked to cook the beef well done, this was ignored as both dishes were still pink in the middle. I only ate the beef and left the rest of the salad as it lacked any flavour whatsoever.

When we went to pay for our meal we received no discount. I let her know we were told we would receive a discount but she had no idea about it. I did not have time to waste as I was already late in heading back to work. We told her we had to leave so she still charged us the full price. Overall it was a...
