I want to love this place but their lack of staff/slow delivery makes it hard.

I've visited Sunnyside twice and it was quite disappointing. The first time was ok, had a bit of a wait after ordering but not too bad. The second time was shocking, we ordered and 50 minutes later our food arrived only after we asked where it was, when it arrived the food was barely warm so the significant delay with the cold'ish food leaves me thinking they don't put enough staff on to take orders and then deliver them from the kitchen. The prices don't align to the quality of service. It was a fairly disappointing experience especially when Sunnyside has such great potential with good food and location when it's delivered in a timely manner!

EDIT: Apparently good customer service involves emailing back to the customer to prove them wrong and then blaming the customer for wait times because we added things like hash browns, avocado etc to our orders and they have things going on behind the scenes that cause delay. Again, not sure how any of that is the customers problem. Their should be enough staff to cater for order changes and behind the scenes activities so customer wait times are...

Very disappointed, location and atmosphere is beautiful but that’s where it ends. For starters, there was a bug in my milkshake, they replaced it but there was no apology and I personally thought maybe they’d take it off the bill. Never mind. Received the bill which was $65 for the two of us, there was only 1 drink so I thought I’d check the receipt after we left incase maybe they over charged us. A basic smashed Avo was $24 plus my partner added a few extra sides at $5 extra each. I got a smoothie bowl which was pretty bland and watery (had to ask for honey) otherwise I probably wouldn’t have eaten it- didn’t want to be rude. But the one thing that really got to me was the milkshake $7 I asked for it extra thick and they charged an additional $3 ($10) and it wasn’t thick it was still like a runny milkshake. I’m just surprised they still charged us considering there was a bug in the first one. We didn’t say anything when we left and paid the bill. Unfortunately I can’t see myself returning or recommending this place after a disappointing...

Nice location, spacious inside with plenty of sitting areas. We sat inside at the back in the room with the fireplace. Now, please put some numbers on the tables so the waitresses know where to deliver drinks and food. They were so confused and kept coming to our table offering things that we didn't order and going back and forth trying to work out which table they belong to. I felt sorry for them. Also, maybe wearing a uniform or even an apron would be nice so customers know who works there. All the young waitresses with casual clothes walking around with coffees etc doesn't look professional at all. Service was a bit annoying due to the confusion with tables. Coffee was good I must say. Food was also okay. I had the pancakes, not the best but good enough. Overall, a decent place that has potential with room for...

Love coming back to Sunny side and ordering the truffle shroom bagel -one of my favourite for sure! We made a booking for a table against the windows. Unfortunately, we ended up in a corner and didn’t get as much of a nice view of the beach. But when a customer left, a staff member came up and moved us to another table with a better view!! She was very attentive and welcoming! The pancakes were super fluffy and soft, had to order strawberries on the side to help with the sweetness a bit. The truffle shroom bagel had a nice sweet and savoury taste, and the batter was crispy. The breakfast tacos were good, tasted a little bland. If it had sauce, would’ve definitely elevate the dish. Overall, a great experience at Sunny side, will be back again! 🥰🥳

Our daughter had her 21st Birthday brunch at Sunnyside and it was wonderful. We had 18 guests in the dining area, in front of the bar. It was cozy. Food, drinks and atmosphere well suited the occasion. Great coffees and Mimosa's! The staff were very lovely and friendly, although management could have rostered on an additional employee knowing that they had a large booking, as food service for our group was certainly on the slow side. All in all, we recommend Sunnyside Bar & Cafe for your next brunch catch-up or event.
