Thai chili chicken pie - $6.50
As I was in the area, I walked over to Bayside Bakery to check them out while I was in Glenelg. The Bakery was quite small but there were a few people coming and going. Well had a look and thought, let's play chicken đ. Got the Thai Chilli Chicken pie. Well the pie looked a pretty decent size, felt pretty weighty. The pastry on top looked a tad overdone, had a mediocre flakiness to it, the base was thick had a slight biscuit like look to it, wasn't hard in any way, soft to eat. The inside had nice big chunks of soft chicken that tasted fresh, some peas and corn. The chilli flavour needed more, it needed that bang on your tongue, a half a pinch more, it was more mild than hot. The meat to gravy ratio was spot on, the pie wasn't dry as such, had a good amount of sauce/gravy. The serving temp was spot on and it passed the one hand test it held up perfectly. Look it wasn't a bad pie, just needs a little bit of tweaking. Shop 7/1 Cliff St, Glenelg SA 5045

Read moreGreat bakery with a good sized range and bakery items. I bought a plain mince pie which was heaped with meat sauce, very happy. Sausage rolls were nice with good value. Sweets are large portions with fresh cream and vanilla slice which was almost a meal by itself. Cheap freshly baked salad rolls are also on offer but go quick due to their popularity, so go before lunch to pick one up. Sells fresh barrista coffee and prepared cakes and cheesecake. Decoration on order. Most bakery items range from $4.50-$6.50. My favourite bakery at the moment. Not since before Pt Elliott bakery changed hands have I enjoyed a...
Read moreThe cakes are great but the customer service is not so good. The staff member I spoke to had an unpleasant attitude and I was made to feel that they thought perhaps they had more important things to do than serve customers. This will be my last purchase, if staff don't want to deal with customers then perhaps they should consider other employment. If you are treated poorly at the front of the store it is unlikely that a customer is going to return. It doesn't take much effort to pretend to be polite and courteous even if you wish you...
