Really lovely bookshop/cafe. 3 rooms of books with an online book listing to show what books they have in stock . You can sit at tables on the front area outside, in one of the 3 rooms or in the rear courtyard. The books are slightly overpriced for second hand books that are donated (in my opinion). They average around $10-$15 per book. The books are mostly in good condition. There is no discount for multiple book buys and no "rewards" card. There are lots of knick knacks to buy down the hallway and all around the cashier area, varying in price. My main feedback tho with the 3 rooms is that the tables need to be more in the centre as it makes it harder to get or look at the books on the book shelves, if there are people sitting at the tables. It's a great idea tho. Nice atmosphere and the staff are lovely. We will be back. *Spent $80 on a few books that we didn't have for a...
Read moreI've been meaning to visit Mockingbird Lounge because what attracted me is their colourful and warm ambience and they offered vegan soup. I'm so glad that I came because the curried carrot and cashew nut soup was definitely worth trying! It comes with rye gluten free toast and they gave me nutterlex to swap for butter. I also ordered hot chocolate with almond milk and dark chocolate pear drop which is so good! An extra 2 pieces of rye toast with nutterlex and Vegemite. The customer service from all staff from waitress, barista and chef are super helpful in answering my questions what items are vegan, they are warm and friendly and I love sitting outside in the garden area for a more quiet ambience. I would definitely come back and bring my partner here. Keep up the good work ladies, you're...
Read moreLovely 1920s bluestone house converted to a lovely bookstore and tea rooms. Everything is home made and presented in a fun way. Don't let the small servings fool you. The sandwiches, quiches, sweets and sconces will fill you up. The standard High Tea has all these and two drinks included. I opted for the Iced Coffee and a pot of Barossa Breakfast tea; a local version of English Breakfast tea. Speaking of local, there was books from local independent authors for sale. Plenty of inexpensive second hand books for almost every taste across two rooms. There's garden seating out the back and on the veranda for those who want to take in the sea breeze or have your faithful pup relaxing by your side. A...
