Gee, this was so disappointing. Based on the reviews, we expected a lot but were underwhelmed. We arrived at 11.45am and there were already about 10 diners inside. So, here's our experience ...

PROS #The establishment has a spacious layout and funky vibe. #The guy who greeted us was extremely welcoming and obliging. #The burger patties were on point - very tasty, as you'd expect. As well, the caramel shakes were flavoursome, although the containers were on the small side.

CONS #There were only two employees, yet they were obviously very busy. I queued for eight minutes before placing our order #It took 30 minutes before our meals were ready. #The burger rolls pretty much disintegrated as we held them. As such, the patty and salad fell out. Good burgers demand good rolls - these weren't. Eating was a messy business. The rolls needed to be crustier and more solid, like those served at places such as Fancy Burger and Grill'd. Also, the burgers were small - for the price, they simply don't measure up to other places. #The onion rings and chips were, well, awful. They tasted sweet, like sugar had been coated on them. Call me old-fashioned, but I'm a salt kinda guy - any flavour. We couldn't eat them. #If you’re over 6 foot (we both are), watch out for the pot plants hanging from the ceiling.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Betty's Burgers in Hyde Park, and let me just say, it was an experience worth savoring! From the moment I walked in, the warm and inviting atmosphere made me feel right at home. The staff greeted me with genuine smiles and were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the menu.

Now, let’s talk about the burgers! I opted for the classic Betty's burger, and it was nothing short of phenomenal. The patty was perfectly cooked - juicy, flavorful, and just the right amount of char. The fresh ingredients really stood out, especially the crunchy lettuce and ripe tomatoes. The special sauce added a unique twist that took it over the top!

I couldn’t resist trying the fries as well, and they were simply irresistible! Crisp and golden, they made the perfect accompaniment to my meal.

For dessert, I indulged in their thick shake, which was the cherry on top of an already fantastic experience. Creamy, rich, and bursting with flavor, it was the perfect way to end my meal.

The ambiance is relaxed and casual, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal with friends or family. Plus, the cleanliness and attention to detail in the restaurant were commendable.

At the counter staff were polite and I explained that my daughter had an allergy to dairy so I ask what dairy their was in the burgers. She explained that there was no dairy in the beef patty so I proceeded with the order of Betty deluxe minus the cheese, onion and Betty's sauce. After taking a bite of my burger I asked my daughter to stop eating hers (she'd taken 3 bites) because I could taste butter on my bun. I approached the counter and asked the staff what the spread on my daughters burger was and if the bun had any dairy in it. They consulted the kitchen staff and came back and said that ghee is used on the buns and the buns itself contain milk. I was quite upset given that I had given the staff all the information about my daughters allergy. They apologised and advised they would make use a vegan burger instead with oil on it but of course I absolutely refused and asked for a refund.

Unfortunately the staff have very limited knowledge of product ingredients or dietary requirements. Some professional development opportunities would be strongly recommended.

I can honestly say that Betty's burger was the worst experience I've ever had. I didn't even finish mine due to the this experience as well as the very low standard of the burger. It was greasy and unappealing and the fries were cold. I will never eat at any Bettys Burger again or recommend it!
