St Louis Ice Cream & Desserts Hyde Park — Restaurant in Adelaide

Breakfast almost turned to lunch....

Arrived 9.30, after ordering our drinks they took half an hour to come. We ordered our food 10 mins after ordering drinks and that started coming an hour later. After 2 hours and several visits to the counter they finally started making my French toast. A very pretty item as you can see but shouldn't have taken this long to come. I watched one couple arrive, order, eat and then go before I had a chance to start on mine. One item didn't come at all... Apparently it never made it to the order list. We thank McDonald's for their all day breakfast menu and prompt service in lieu of this missing meal.

Being new years day there was not a lot of choice of places to eat and the owner should have realised this and put on another staff member. This would also ensure that the two hour seating limit was adhered to and the two staff members wouldn't have had to deal with complaints about the timing of everything. Staff weren't able to attend to the water dispenser station, clearing and wiping down tables as efficiently...

First time visiting this place today. Was pretty excited about trying it out! Until we ordered our drinks and food, and had to wait nearly 20minutes just for the drinks to come out which were wrong so we asked for the drinks to be changed to what we had actually ordered. Then my mum's toasted sandwich comes out burnt. And my peanut butter bowl still hadn't come out. I could see the young inexperienced girls fondling around In the back while making my bowl. I knew something wasn't right. When my bowl finally came to the table it was like water . I asked the girl if that is hot it is supposed to look. She said yes. I then looked on their website to check the pictures to make sure and it looked nothing like it was supposed to. I asked for a refund. The young girl told me it looked bad because they had trouble with their blender. The manager on site was so rude and unprofessional she kicked me and my mother out of the cafe. And refused to let us finish what we had paid for. Worst customer service ever....

Good god damn man, this place is so bloody good. Their hot choc in particular, despite being quite expensive, is just the best bloody chocolate ever, you could pour one cup into two and top them both up with milk or water and they would STILL be the best bloody hot chocolate ever (I know because I've topped up one I'd half drunk and left in the fridge overnight, it was solid the next day so I poured some milk in and stirred and it was incredible).

Also their pistachio ice cream might be the best ice cream ever, a good combo is to mix with their own St Louis flavour, that combo is my favourite. Also weirdly the ice cream is really good value comparatively to a lot of other ice cream places. The pistachio bomboloni is also fantastic. Honestly everything here is good, and the one in Hyde Park is really nice place to sit and chill too.

Well impressed with this company in general, I hope they come to WA too eventually, and that thr quality...
