Stopped of for a well deserved mid ride break. Authentic Dutch coffee, prepared by a real Dutchman, with all the trapings of a strong accent. Now it should be said that for some Dutch people, coffee with milk, is coffee gone wrong. Be that as it may this was a great Cappuccino. Water is easily accessible at the bar to refill your water bottle. Do try the cakes, they are great!

Update: popped in again with my own Dutch dependent for a mid ride brunch. Coffee on this occasion was not so strong, and not the distinctive Dutch flavour of the first visit. To accompany the coffee, I had a toasted sandwich. Upon paying, I was surprised that the default response was "will that be take away?" Rather than 'Will that be eat in or take away?", the latter acts as an encouragement to enjoy the outdoor seating. We opted to sit outside, and enjoy the respite. When the toasted sandwich arrived, it came with chips (crisps in UK speak). Whilst common in the UK, it is unusual here. My preference in either location, is not to have them, and I would have liked the sandwich alone or with air fried...

Dutch Coffee Lab (DCL) offers very decent coffee in the Port Adelaide area. It was a recent exploration but having been twice now I've been impressed with the coffee (flat white) served; smooth, consistent and the correct amount of milk foam. The symbolic yellow couch out the front seems to often be occupied by regular customers and the broad footpath tables are friendly to those accompanied by furry, four legged companions. The downside to sitting outside is the busy, noisy and frequent truck noise of St Vincent Street. Despite other reviews suggesting frumpy or gruff service, I have yet to experience this. Service was a little slow this morning as the barista favoured takeaway orders; they seemed to get a brisk service. Judging by the frequency of those happily walking out with trays of coffee, DCL seems to be a go to caffeine fix for other traders in the area. DCL has a room at the back of the premises that is enhanced by some local photographic art works. It actually looks like it would be a cosy spot for a coffee with friends in...

I have been going here a few months regularly, sometimes I buy coffee sometimes a cake too. Twice recently a non regular young guy has been on the machine and both coffees he made were burnt and bitter. Today when I walked in and saw him on the machine I asked the owner for a quick chat outside. I explained he and his other staff make the most delicious amazing perfect coffees. Then I explained my experience with the young bloke and that I didn't want him to make my coffee. The arrogant owner told me to get out and to not come back. I am half Dutch and I know the arrogant stereotype and this clown is the epitome of that. What a rude pig. He should stay out the back roasting his beans or work silently making coffee. On the couple of occasions I have tried to chat with him he has been abrupt and dismissive. I need to add the other staff are perfectly fine to deal with. Also, their cakes are delicious albeit overpriced. And his $16 toasted sandwich with a few...

Awesome coffee in the Port. They roast their own coffee in this funky little cafe! If you are in the Port and want good coffee this is the place to go!! The rustic setting and always friendly service is what gives this place a bit character.. Highly recommend coming here!!
