This restaurant is, without a doubt, one of the most poorly managed establishments I've ever encountered. The staff's lack of attentiveness is beyond appalling—it's as if they genuinely don't care about their jobs or the customers. The entire team needs to be sent back to English classes and taught the basics of communication. I’m not being harsh; I’m just stating the facts.
We booked a Father's Day yum cha lunch, expecting a pleasant experience. What we got instead was a nightmare. We sat down, and not a single staff member bothered to take our order. The staff was too busy running around aimlessly, completely oblivious to the customers. We had to flag someone down, and then waited an eternity for the food to arrive. Considering it was Father’s Day, wouldn't it have been wise to roster more staff or at least ensure the ones working knew what they were doing?
But it gets worse. We had to physically get up and wave down another incompetent staff member just to order drinks and a few extras. The drinks eventually arrived, but nothing else, despite the fact that they wrote it down. When we wanted to order more food, we were told the kitchen was closed. Seriously? Why didn’t anyone inform us that the kitchen would be closing soon? A simple 30-minute heads-up would have sufficed. When I questioned the staff member, he shrugged it off, saying we should have known and that the staff needed to rest. If I were running this place, I’d be making a fortune for the owner. But clearly, your staff doesn't care about revenue—they're more interested in cleaning up early.
I can't believe some of the reviews giving this place 4-5 stars. Are these people blind, tasteless, or just clueless? The food is a 2/10 at best, the atmosphere is a depressing 3/10, the service is a shocking -9/10, and the prices are outrageous for what you get. The only accurate review is from Bill Han—he and I clearly see this place for what it truly is: a disaster. We wont be coming back and will tell family and friends to stay clear! worst $400 we have ever spent.
THIS PLACE IS LIKE THE ASIAN VERSION OF 'KARENS DINER'. THE STAFF DONT LIKE CUSTOMERS YET WE PAY FOR THEIR EXISTANCE.
Get it together, or just close the doors. This kind of service is...
Read moreI have been here multiple times because the food is good however, this will unfortunately be the last. We ordered $1,000.00 worth of food. All dishes came well prepared except for the steamed fish dish and we requested if it could be cooked a little more as it was still pink (definitely raw)- this was a dish for the children on the table. The request was rejected by a middle aged man who seemed to be the manager. He explained that's how steamed fish is prepared as you use the hot oil to drizzle over the fish to cook it after it is served (the steamed fish came with sesame oil and soy sauce). He then spooned the sesame oil and soy sauce over the partially cooked fish and claimed that's how they cooked it. We explained eating not fully cooked fish may cause stomach upset for our kids but he ignored our concerns and insisted that we did not know how to eat steamed fish cooked in this manner.
He clearly does not care about the welfare and health concern of his customers. He was extremely rude to us, insisting that the fish was cooked and that we did not know how to eat food of this cuisine asking us "How many times in a year have you eaten this food? Once? Twice?" He also said that we didn't know anything about the Cantonese style cuisine. He was extremely rude and spoke to us in a condescending tone saying that we don't know how to eat "Cantonese" food. He stormed off then proceeded to speak in another language to other customers and employees whilst looking and pointing towards our table.
It is disappointing to see a manager behave in this manner having total disregard for their customer's concern and welfare when faced with customers feedback concerning partially cooked fish which posed a risk to people's health.
Future customer's should read reviews before deciding to dine at this restaurant. The experience was ruined by the conduct of...
Read moreStrongly recommended! If you want to know how strangely poor customer service could ever be in hospitality, this is absolutely the place to go. While I said customer service, the focus is actually on the seemingly manager guy, who wears glasses with a long face. Other staff are fine, quiet and straightforward that you would expect the same in Chinese restaurants. You meet him upon entering the lounge, who then starts his interrogation: If you don't have a queue ticket and just wait still, he will ask "Why didn't you even get one?" This is a killer question for those first time there. The next question is "Can you finish before 1 o'clock?!" The intonation at the end is falling with an exclamation. If you pass his test, he will lead you to your table. He will then point his finger towards the table without saying a word and you know this is where you are dispatched to. At first I thought he was like that just when servicing Asian people especially Chinese because many Chinese people seemed to be less concerned about customer service. However, my observation told me that he is so all the time. And I think all the negative reviews here mean something. He looks hard working, constantly walking around and handling various chores on site. But the weird thing is, he always seems unhappy. There were occasions I heard him swearing, likely complaining about some staff being incompetent or some customer being ignorant. He doesn't look like really enjoy his job but there is apparently something he would love to explore within this damn customer service. I can't help but just thinking it is mental health problems there. In the end I found it interesting to watch him being so mean around. I've never seen like this before, and you'll never have such a rare experience elsewhere in South...
