I would like to share my reviews and it is for all family members with kids who are planning to visit this restaurants in future .
There is no respect towards the customers from the staff members and the bad experience we noticed when we went for a dinner on my wife birthday on 8th Oct which actually spoiled our whole day .
We are still in great stree as how can the staff behave when we placed the cake on a table as our table was full and there was no one to attend at our table inspite of us asking for help and we are being told in a highly rude manner not to use any other table to keep the cake even though no one was sitting in that table and no one was waiting as well .
Inspite of getting a polite behaviour or greeting the customers with a smile the staff at this restaurant treated last night as if we meant nothing for them
I was with my daughter who is 2 years old and upon asking they confirmed there is no food for babies and they did not even attempted to check from the chef if they could make some instant options even we suggested few options which any restaurant can easily make . It the fact that the staff was not making any effort and did not make any effort to chekc with their chef .
After that we picked the pasta from the nearby shop thi king we can leave the little one unattended as she was starving and was getting cranky with no food option for her. When we politely requested that we are feeding the kid with that pasta and the behaviour from the staff was like no we don’t allow the food from any other place . I am ok for not allowing the food from outside. It in this situation when the restaurant is not able to serve for a kid and specially we were a group of 11 in that instance we specifically informed that that pasta is only for a little one with 2 years old . The behaviour was like no we can’t have it.we really got very angry and asked where is your manager and they said the manager is not present physically at that time and for the whole duration of the party .
I believe this is mainly due to the non presence of the manager and manager also not making any attempt to visit at that time or rather talk to us to make the situation better and even after all it happened there was no attempt made to make us calm or feel better in that situation .
I would rather not recommend this restaurant not because the food and quality was not good . But why we visit the restaurant to make us feel better and to feed our family and to mKe our kids feed as well . And not to be stressed and kids unattended .
We were very happy before we visited this restaurant but after coming back from the restaurant last light we are really feeling stressed until now just because of the unwelcome nature and the rude behaviour of the staff who attended last night I.e on 8th Oct and our table was booked o line from 7:30 onwards as we made the reservation online .
Towards the end when we were about to leave one of my friend was trying to balance the whole situation but the staff was even more rude and the whole conversation was again getting more eroded and we thought just to exit the restaurant asap .
Also they have added tha charge as we took our cake in the restaurant which the staff denied to cut and serve us and we have to do it on our own . So in this case why was the charge added in the bill when no service was offered .
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone and also the families with kids be extra cautious as no kids meal for little ones and no calmness after the rude attitude from the staff and sharing our real...
Read moreHaving been impressed previously by the Cinnamon Club's Henley Beach location, my wife suggested she take 'me' out on a date to try their Norwood Parade restaurant. It's in a great spot and the whole area was buzzing and vibrant on this perfect Friday evening. We were seated and attended to promptly by the very friendly staff and the difficult task of choosing from the comprehensive menu began. Our entrée was the Subz Shami Kebab, something we hadn't encountered before and the small spiced potato and vegetable patties with dipping sauce were excellent and really whet our appetites in anticipation of what was to come. It was a busy evening, so when our waitress approached us with complementary papadums stating there had been a slight delay with our mains we took the opportunity to ask if we could add a serve of Daal Panchratni to our order. This awkward request was met with a smile and we were told it would be be no problem. Our mains arrived shortly after accompanied by an apology for the delay from a smiling lady we would later discover to be the manager, but to be honest the drinks service and happy atmosphere had us commenting to each other how we hadn't even noticed a delay at all. I tend to gravitate to a goat curry if it appears on a menu and tonight was no different. The Cinnamon Club Lucknowi Goat Curry is one of the best I have ever tasted. My wife loved her Mavey aur palak ke kofte. Cottage cheese and shredded spinach dumplings simmered in a rich tomato gravy which was selected from extensive vegetarian choices. Thank goodness we remembered the daal mentioned earlier! Made with five types of lentils, it's described as "homestyle" and a must try for daal lovers. A cucumber raita, garlic naan and perfectly cooked rice rounded out an excellent meal. The table was cleared and to our surprise we were served with a complimentary mixed desert platter for our understanding regarding the aforementioned delay with our mains. We were pleasantly surprised and went to lengths to explain that it wasn't necessary but much appreciated. The manager again smiled and said it was their pleasure. Wonderful service. Our evening was so enjoyable that we didn't have the heart to use our Entertainment Card discount when settling the bill. A good excuse to go back again soon....not that...
Read moreMy companion and I opted for the $60 set menu at the height of the Friday-night rush, arriving just after 6 pm. The room was vibrant—indeed loud enough that I was hoarse after an hour—and the staff, though consistently courteous, were clearly operating at full stretch. They remained pleasant, but both the order taking and the successive courses moved at a sluggish pace; fortunate for us we had allowed what we thought was ample time before a 7:45 film.
The meal began with crisp papadums, sadly unaccompanied by the mint–yoghurt sauce I consider indispensable. When the entrées arrived, the mint sauce finally appeared, though disappointingly thin and runny rather than the thicker, yoghurt-based consistency I prefer. Flavour-wise, however, the starters were excellent.
The mains were uneven. Unfortunately the curries arrived on a white four-section ceramic plate, each portion spooned into its own compartment, which did nothing for their appearance; the dishes would have looked far more appetising—and stayed hotter—in the traditional stainless-steel karahi bowls. To compound matters, the kitchen initially forgot the rice, a lapse quickly remedied with a generous serving of fragrant saffron rice once we asked.
Of the four curries, the lamb rogan josh and the fish curry were clear stand-outs; the rogan josh even concealed a pleasantly surprising cube of paneer. The butter chicken was perfectly serviceable but only average among the countless versions found across Adelaide. The vegetable curry, built on what looked like a supermarket “mixed veg” medley of peas, carrots and beans, was the sole misfire and went largely untouched. A daal or palak paneer would have felt more considered.
Both the cheese naan and the Kashmiri naan were exemplary—pillowy, lightly blistered, and ideal for mopping up sauce. Chilled Kingfisher beers proved an apt foil for the spice.
Because the mains lagged, we had to forego the dessert course to make our film; even so we left comfortably full. In sum: warm service under strain, some high points on the plate, but presentation missteps and timing issues that dulled the overall experience. With a few refinements—chiefly in pacing, plating, and a rethink of that vegetable curry—this kitchen could shine as brightly as those stainless-steel...
