High Tide Cafe Semaphore — Restaurant in Adelaide

I have come here few times and have come back again because the service and food has been good. But most recently i was extremely dissapointed. The menu serves food til 2.30pm and some of the us at our table had ordered (around 2.10pm ) while others went to order a little later at 2.20pm, (waited at the counter while waitress's finished the conversation about the weekend with a colleague) and were told when finally served that the kitchen was closed although it was before 2.30pm. We explained our situation that we were out for my fathers 80th birthday and that my mum, dad, aunt and uncle had not been able to order. It was extremely disappointing that there was no apology, or sorry for the situation despite other tables still being served food. The service that day was just not good (perhaps it was just the waiters that day) For example, they were not happy that I asked for an extra plate for my daughter and told me that I needed to order the plate when ordering the food. We asked for the fan to be turned down and reluctantly they turned it off completely. I would rather go to a place that would serve to the time they specified and be concerned about customer satisfaction, rather than getting out...

2024 Started the year back here again and tried a different breakfast dish. Crumpets Not fantastic the lemon curd was gritty but presentation was good. Coffee was average The corn fritters Again were very nice presentation was good.

2023 Not sure they are hitting the high spot that they were a few years ago. We try different meals but don't find the taste or presentation on mark.

2022 December Change of name Came for breakfast and was a little average which was disappointing

2020 to 2021 Miss their pulled pork for breakfast.. that was very naughty! But nice.

I did a review sometime ago with a heavy heart at the loss of the pulled pork menu . . (Gave 3 stars)

However. . I have been back soooooo many times since and love this place so much. The chai lattes are amazing, the breakfast corn fritters are wicked the coffee is good and biscuits are yum. .I've given them a 5 star. .

If you strike up a conversation with those customers that are wanting to chat, you'll note that whipped have such lovely customers too!

A genuine little business that has plenty...

I have always enjoyed this cafe, BUT, this time, not so good. We ordered, and waited, and waited. The last person to order received her single order, not the rest of us, and then 3 tables who came in after us, all were given their meals. I asked, and the young, inefficient and extraordinarily dismissive waiter, said she'd look into it. Never seen again, and in a time of mask wearing, hers had slipped way beyond her legally required upper lip and did I mention, no acknowledgement of orders or apology. Then I hailed another young person, who could barely take the time to understand that at this time we had been waiting for over 45 minutes. She said, and I quote "Oh your order didn't print", and then vanished, no sorry or we'll fix it. It's busy, but really, the on floor staff should know courtesy. And then finally, a delightful young woman made it all okay by approaching us, apologising effusively and rectifying the situation instantly.
