This review I post is ONLY SPECIFIC TO RIDGEHAVEN SA HJ'S only.Only posting since phone complaints over past several years obviously do not change anything, to which also confirmed by more negative reviews online than positive. And this will have no effect as HJ's is a massive corporation so negative feedback and a decline in patronage will not affect them financially and one off customers will go there and if meal bad, will not complain, but will just not go back! Anyway: 1. Never use their drive - thru at this location, as 90% or more order WILL be incorrect. If I use D/Thru, I go to HJ that has face to face ordering drive thru service. 2. If they are busy, I walk out. Only to avoid a lengthy confusing wait and possible incorrect order (this is based on numerous past attendances at this location) 3. TONIGHTS VISIT: Young girl I presume was a team leader of some description (as her demonstrated leadership behaviour seems to of met the acceptable standards required by HJ's to have the position) was yelling/screaming directed to the young men preparing customer food. 4. The store was not busy - certainly to not what I regard as busy, yet I could hear the staff out the back talking very loud and over the person yelling at them in relation to food. 5. Amongst all the jubilant loud discussion out the back, I clearly from the front hear the word "RET__D"! (term now highly regarded as offensive in this day - and a word previously used frequently to describe someone with an intellectual/physical disability). However, immediately a voice from a young female staff member out front, addressed the comment and advised the person who had said it that it was inappropriate. I was very pleased that I witnessed that. Except she added that the comment was loud and customers may hear it. At least she recognised it was an offensive term, now HJ's just now need training to staff as to point out why it is no longer used in such fashion. 5. I had a simple order, however when a standard simple burger that contains chicken patty, lettuce and mayo in a bun, how can you get that order incorrect? They forgot to put mayo on it. - That is also why I will not go when what they think is a busy period. They do not at all work effectively or efficiently under a little pressure. I am only giving 2 stars to reflect not just one visit but the overall rating they deserve for last few years. I have only given the two stars, as I reflect back on the times where the food has been correct, fresh, hot and the staff members (which have been many) that have been so polite and helpful over that time. The store if serious about customer focus and professionalism of staff representing their company, then they would be reading the posted complaints, logging complaint calls, and keeping those statistics that would reflect in which areas they need more thorough training to avoid these complaints. I have not observed any changes from say 3 years ago and so am convinced they do not care overall. From the outlets I have been to on more than a dozen times, I would need to say HJ.s INGLE FARM is the best store. And I have in the past driven further than I need just to go to the I/F store for a fresh correct meal...
Read moreGot home to find only half the order had been placed in the bag that I was told to drive around front and wait for. After waiting for 10 minutea, a bag was brought to my car... when I got home I found only half the ordered products were in the bag... missing were the products that supposedly caused the wait because they were being freshly cooked for me!! Maccas is closer, that's where I'll go in future... Tried phoning to complain... eventually got a message... "we cannot take your call and you cannot leave a message. Call back later ." And THAT'S customer service???
Post Script: I did eventually receive a call from HJ customer service HO. That person listened intently, understood my frustration and agreed that the service I received was unacceptable. But here's the crunch....
He offered to speak with their Regional Manager responsible for that franchise outlet. Did not say what "speaking to" would entail. For all I know it was going to be a "Hello, how are you?" There was no offer of any recompense for my missing meal items. No frisbees, drinks, chips, or whatever... I was left with the impression that nothing would really be done, I was offered no feedback after the "speaking to" had happened; there was no apology; and finally... the person I spoke to was cold, uncaring and in no way suggesting things may be different in the future.
Totally sucks... HJ....
Read moreI placed an order via HJ app, when it arrived, it was obviously not my order, the bag handed to me had a docket attached for nearly $200 worth of food and weighed a lot. I handed it back to the driver explaining the order wasn’t mine and he said he did not have my order there, he said it must have been back at the store but he would go and get it. I called the store, the young man I spoke to was apologetic but said my order had been delivered to another customer and there was absolutely nothing he could do to help, I would have to contact Menulog. I contacted Menulog and was told I could get a refund within 10 days but no food tonight. Appalling! The driver returned with a bag containing a spilled drink and handed it to me, he then handed me another bag but the seal had already been opened and the food inside was stone cold so I advised him I couldn’t accept it because it had been delivered to another customer and they had already opened and handled it. You would think two international companies between them would manage to remember that a huge component of business is customer service. Both were terrible and I’m certain I will never use the hungry jacks app or Menulog ever again. 1 star for food that...
