Terrible customer service! Was very disappointed. I was told I could not have lettuce instead of bean sprouts in my beef noodles, despite being heavily pregnant. Instead of asking me to pay extra for it (which I would have done happily if they asked me to initially) they lied and stated they had no lettuce. I am aware that lettuce is expensive right now, so I never asked or expected it to be included for free. When I complained to the manager, he said it was their right to refuse. They said they had lettuce but it was reserved for other dishes. He had no concern for me even though I was a regular customer (I often come with mum who pays with my credit card) and heavily pregnant. Mum has even mentioned to me in the past that the boss was stubborn and lacked flexibility when it comes to food orders for its customers, as he stated lettuce could not be added to a dish. Would not dine here again in a business that puts profits before it’s customers. I would rather support businesses that care about their customers instead of belittling them for making a simple request. Disgraceful management when they try to make excuses instead of coming up with solutions to help their customers. Never in my life did I request 1/3 of a lettuce head from this place, treat their staff aggressively, or demand that they fulfil every customer’s requests, as the manager states below, lol! They never even asked me how much lettuce I wanted. I would have been happy to pay extra for a few leaves (before they upset me and I decided to leave). What sort of restaurant does not allow for any special dietary requests? The lies and excuses they will make up are...
Read moreIf you are anaphylactic please avoid Jarn Leva Vietnamese. On the 27.08.22 my partner and I ate at this restaurant and unfortunately despite our efforts to order our food peanut free the restaurant failed us and John ended up in hospital.
Our night ended with a scary visit to the emergency ward, an overnight stay and two adrenaline shots. Thank goodness my partner and I acted quickly as the restaurant was unhelpful and did not follow simple first aid or incident protocols.
Please note that we physically went up to the counter to order so there would be no confusion and the waitress that handed us our entrée confirmed the dish by stating, “here is your peanut free dish”.
I am writing this so others can be cautious as after a lot of back and forth with the restaurant we are not confident they have learned from their mistake or have processes in place to ensure the safety of their customers.
We have tried our best to communicate with them so they can be educated on this but are very disappointed with their lack of empathy and being told it would not be in our “best interest to make this public”. They did not provide first aid, they had no sense of urgency with this medical emergency and we have had to chase up the refund which was promised for the food and also the medical expenses which were incurred. We have now been refunded the $42.50 - the expense of the epipen).
Food allergies are not a joke – I hope in the future they will be more cautious and responsible for...
Read moreWe come here regularly because we love your Vietnamese pho—but today was beyond disappointing. The staff were shockingly rude and dismissive.
I simply asked for a fresh serve of steamed rice because the one you served was burnt—literally the scorched bottom layer from the rice cooker. I wasn’t asking for anything free—I paid for it, and I expected basic quality, especially since I was feeding my baby.
Instead, the tall guy with glasses said “sure,” then turned around and scooped rice from the exact same pot, just covering the burnt bits I returned. Completely unacceptable.
When I asked another staff member to change it again, she was extremely rude. I explained politely, even said “please,” and she just walked away with the bowl, left it on the counter, cleaned some tables, and came back to ask, “You don’t want that rice?” I said I wanted freshly cooked rice, and she said it would “take too long.” Then—miraculously—two seconds later she handed me another bowl and said “That’s new rice,” in the most annoyed tone possible before walking off. It felt incredibly dismissive and disrespectful.
This is NOT the level of service or quality anyone should tolerate, especially from a place we’ve supported regularly.
You should be apologizing—not only for serving that kind of rice, but for the attitude and treatment we received. Just because it’s a busy day doesn’t mean you can treat customers like that or assume we’re okay with burnt...
