Hey all, Travelled to Hyde Park Bakery today. (not far from the CBD) Had about 10 different pies on the menu, got a couple of pies to try out.

Chunky Steak & Pepper Pie $6.5 The pie felt quite heavy, Got it out of the bag, from the look of it I was liking it already. The pie had a slight golden tinge to the lid with some pepper sprinkled on top, slight crunch and a bit of flakiness to it. The pastry, well cooked above and the underside perfect. The filling had delicious big soft chunks of steak, a nice peppery bang to the gravy, wasn't too powerful and not too weak, just the right amount of pepper. The meat to gravy ratio, a few more chunks of steak than the norm, but there's nothing wrong with that, works for me. The serving temp was pretty spot on and the pie held up together perfectly. It was a pretty decent pepper pie.

Plain Mince Pie - $5.40 Pretty good value for a pie my thoughts. Got it out of the bag. A tad smaller than what I was expecting, but for $5.40 you can't knock that. The pastry had a sort of whitish look to it. Has a nice soft lid, little bit of flakiness, cooked perfectly on top and the underside was good. Biting into it revealed a taste of onion, the mince had a very light brown look to it, no grissle. I Wasn't totally convinced with the gravy, i think it was lacking something. The mince to gravy ratio was ok, wasn't too runny or sloppy. The serving temp wasn't too bad and the pie held up nicely. It was just your average plain mince pie. 1 Mitchell St, Hyde Park SA 5061

Best bakery just south of Adelaide CBD! Dined in and had a cheese kranksy, butter chicken pie with a cappuccino. Food was great, very high quality pastries and fillings. Butter chicken pie had good pieces of chicken in it, didn’t taste dodgy or fake. Coffee was good, not the best I’ve ever had, but definitely good, and well presented. The staff here are friendly and efficient with getting food out. My coffee was made very very quickly which was great! The space here is great, there is plenty of seating outside and inside. Design of the decor is nice and simple. Would recommend if your looking for great bakery food.

Came here for an afternoon of coffeee and cake with friends. Exceeded my expectations.

The extensive range of cakes and pastries was such a bonus, but what was impressive was everything we ordered (carrot cake, orange almond cake and macaroon tart) was really fresh, moist and delicious without being too sweet.

The tables were comfortable and spaced far apart, the whole place is spacious, bright and airy, great for spending an afternoon here.

Another huge bonus is the ample private carpark next door reserved for customers. No need to circle round...
