I had the Eggs Benny and I enjoyed every bite. The hollandaise sauce was supreme....yum! Great ambiance with lots of different nooks to enjoy your meal. Definitely will come back here. Prices a little expensive but it is value for the tasty food experience. Coffee is great tooš . The above review was on Saturday.
I came back on Monday just after 2.00pm and was told the kitchen closes at 2.00pm. I did Google it and it says it closes at 3.30pm. Because I only wanted a light savoury 'something', I didn't mind thinking I could choose from their premade things. Being lactose intolerant I couldn't see anything without cheese in it so I asked if there was anything else that I could have (quick and light). The girl behind the counter said she would ask the chef but came back and said all that they have is there which is on display. I ended up choosing a foccacia with salad and halloumi. (I always carry lacteeze tabs with me just in case). Bad mistake. Parts of the bread were rock solid! The tomato tasted strange? The latte I ordered came in a cup, not a glass? I asked if the foccacia was freshly made today? She said "maybe? yesterday?" and the reason the bread was hard was because it was toasted. Me thinks ....not! It was old. Not coming back.
In reply to the owners offer, after reading my review, to have a coffee and cake next time I come in. I thank you but I'm not coming back. And just to clarify...I did not want to have anything 'cooked' as I was told the kitchen is closed. A simple sandwich, without cheese, would have sufficed or a salad or....?? Re the 'the new girl', she DID know I wasn't happy with the glass hardness of the foccacia as I showed her, when speaking to her, how hard it was by tapping it with my fingernail. That's also when I asked her how old is this and is it made fresh every day? Her answer is above. I repeat...she said "maybe", yesterday?" Yes, I ate it by leaving some coffee in my cup to enable me to dunk the glass like dry bits into it. I was hungry, it was already 2.00pm and I hadn't eaten since my cup of coffee for breakfast and, knowing there wasn't anything in the display cabinet that I could have AND, I was told there was not anything that the chef can make for me. As I said earlier, I just wanted something light without cheese and it was all just too...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAbsolutely appalled by the service received at this cafe. Never have I experienced customer service to be so bad⦠My cousins and I went for a early breakfast on a Saturday (cafe was relatively quiet at this time). Each family member went out one by one to place their orders. After all the meals were given to each member at the table I noticed that mine was the only one missing. I approached the lady at the front counter (who I believe to be the manager) and I questioned politely if there was a misunderstanding or my order was somehow missed by staff. The lady chat with the kitchen to them come out and tell me that it wasnāt far away. My order was then brought out moments later and it was not correct. Iām not usually a fussy eater and will have just eaten what I was given, but as I was worried I got someone elseās meal from another table, I felt it best to advise the manager to avoid someone complaining. Not only was the manager extremely rude, she insisted that someone at my table had stolen my meal, even when none of the meals were what I had ordered. I attempted to intervene and let her know that no one at my table actually had what I had ordered, But I only did she not take this for an answer and ratify the situation, she went out of her way to get the docket from the kitchen to prove me wrong. I tried to explain to her that she has confused the order that was taken before mine (my cousins) and had added extras on her that were not on her plate. Also incorrect breads on each meal. As she made us so uncomfortable we didnāt bother letting her know the other errors, where my cousin paid $10 extra for items she didnāt receive. The manager continued to say that we got my order swapped wrong, not her and she had doublechecked everything. Itās such a shame she acted this way, as a group of 9 will not return to this place. We are local to the area and also frequently enjoy meal outings. After my experience here, Iād rather pay elsewhere and for a meal I actually ordered and customer service that leaves me feeling uplifted not deflatedā¦. *1 star goes to the $12.50 top I managed to find...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreExtremely disappointed with Mekko Market, I had a rack there for two weeks and had a couple of pieces of clothing stolen.
Most dishearting was one particular piece was a Zimmerman Jumpsuit which retails at $600+. I had emailed to keep a track and they just said that it was probably on a different rack. I had looked through twice around the store and asked them to keep an eye out with no response. I am still waiting to hear about the other clothes...
I would not recommend selling clothes at Mekko Market.
From my experience;
The front desk for the market is often left empty, with store attendants spending more time in the cafe area;
Your racks are not monitored, although we are paying for a service of your clothes being in the 'store' your clothes are often put back in the wrong rack by I am assuming shoppers and/or store attendees (suggestion make it a requirement after trying things on to return the clothes to the front desk and they will put it away for them, a more active presence of store clerks would also deter people from stealing);
Store attendees do not go through the store and make sure that the tags match up to the rack they are sitting on, or they don't do it often enough;
No face-to-face orientation with the stallholders and you are left to guess on how to move forward with your rack being in the store and no one monitors people packing clothes up and setting them up which allows for stallholders to pick up clothes that may not be theirs. (suggestion this will make sellers more connected to the store and brand, will make them more engaged with their sales and less likely to take other clothes when finishing the stall)
I am picking this up as I have realised that I am not the only one that has made a significant financial and time loss from having my clothes at Mekko Market. I have had another friend who has reported she had clothes stolen from this Market and had also noticed someone going through the CCTV or similar when I dropped off the second...
