We booked a table for 10 people at Spice Heaven on Sat at 8pm. To our surprise the entire restaurant was empty and only one couple besides us. We order our food with entrees like tangdi kebeb, mutton tikka name a few. As we were 8 non vegetarians we asked the server for the quantity in each dish. She informed us that we would get 4 pieces in each entrees and hence we order for 2 plates of the entrees. To out price there were only 3 pieces of tangdi kebab in each plate and hence when we asked about the same we were informed that because of the size there would be only 3 pieces. We then ordered one more plate but the server ignored the instructions and later place the order when we needed to wait another 20 mins more for the entrees to finish up. The main course order was correct this time and it didnt take too long for it to arrive. The order was for prawns vindaloo, chekf special chicken, goat curry, mushroom matter paneer etc. We found out that were was food color or something put in the prawns vindaloo and tangdi kebab which made is look dark red and some of the color was lingering in our fingers even after the dinner. Also there was a lot of chilli flakes used instead of chili powder and other spices which doesn't takes good. Read moreMy experience with Spice Heaven was sadly horrible. On 7th September I had book a table for two at 9:30pm online. I had also received confirmation mail regarding the same. While on the way to the restaurant, I noticed that I had a missed call from the restaurant and called them back. When I told the person who answered the call that I missed the call, she mentioned that she did not call. Well, her response was not appropriate and her tone was as though I was wrongly accusing her. Then I asked her if it was anything regarding the booking I did. Without asking me to hold on the call she started to speak to someone else. Absolutely did not have even the basic courtesy. Then, someone else started to talk to me in a different language that I didn't understand (guess it was hindi). Why would you establish a restaurant in Australia and answer your customers in hindi? Well, eventually she spoke in English after I told her I didn't understand. Finally, when we went to the restaurant we just had to stand unattended for few minutes. No one attended to us, showed our table or anything...... Finally, to save our sanity we walked out to not endure further horror.
Well, I have been to several busy restaurants but haven't experienced this kind of treatment.

In evening 2 hours before the reservation time, someone from restaurant calls asking us to cancel the reservation so that when we come in "we can avoid disappointment" saying that the restaurant is booked out as someone is having a party. I just asked then why would quandoo send me confirmation email for my reservation. The person then goes on to say that quandoo only does full price and you are eligible to book through them considering the coupon you have bought. And when I asked to show me such a thing written on quandoo as it never asked me while I was booking my reservation, the person has the courage to hang up. I wonder if this is how they behave over the phone, how would they behave if there was a similar issue or for that matter any issue in house? Worst phone manners ever seen...
