Have gone twice now in the middle of the week so it was nice, lovely and even better, quiet. First time we got the kids pancakes to share, bacon and eggs, the granola bowl and a cappuccino. The pancakes were one of the best I’ve had, they were soft and fluffy but had a satisfying slightly crunchy edge, they hit the spot 10/10. The bacon and eggs had a really delicious bread come with it with a good amount of butter. The bacon was nice and crunchy the way I like it. I was told by my partner the coffee was nice and the granola bowl was good, great assortment of fruits but couldn’t really taste the dark chocolate shavings. On our second visit we got the bacon and eggs again, sweet potato fries and the PB protein smoothie. Days have gone by and I’m still thinking of that smoothie, it gets 100/10 for me, it’s hard to come across a smoothie that I enjoy as much as that one so I’ll gladly pay $9.50 for it. The sweet potatoes however were on the verge of being burnt. The aioli it comes with is tasty but the fries were very close to being overcooked. A little bit on the pricey side (most dishes are at least $20 including the granola bowl) but these days I understand going out is a luxury that will cost a small fortune. The service and the atmosphere I think make up for it though. The 2 times we’ve gone in we’ve been welcomed by the person behind the order counter and we’ve been told “Thank you for coming, have a great day” on the way out. Small details like that are unfortunately becoming less and less common in the hospitality industry but it’s good to see this place has it. There’s some art prints and paintings on the wall up for purchase and I’m all for a business supporting small artists. I do enjoy coming to this cafe, I’ll be back and hope to try the Burrito bowl next.

Amazing surprise brunch find in Thebarton! Cannot fault the friendly staff and wide variety in the menu. Has good vibes inside and plenty of outdoor seating as well. Easy to find seating at around 10:30am but filled up quickly during peak brunch time. The big breakfast was solid with no surprises compared to other brunch places. The winning dish is the chilli crab scramble. You can smell the crab meat as it is served to you, and has been referenced multiple times in other reviews for The Nest. Will return again to try the rest of the menu. Pictured: big breakfast, chilli crab scramble

Very stylish cafe with great service, excellent food. The coffee is great, had the French toast to share and the chef actually done two half portion. I was expecting they just provide two extra plate to divide the meal ourselves, this is just great service. The food was done perfectly and it was plated with a lot of care hat off to the chef. Have to come back and try out some of the other food on offer.

On two separate occasions I have booked the meeting room for an event. Both times I have been informed days later that the room is not available and already had a booking. The first time I was informed late on a Friday afternoon for an event we had booked on the Monday. The owner and the manager have little to no empathy about the issues this created.

Thanks for the response Eli. The first occasion I was informed late on a Friday afternoon for a booking that was on the next Tuesday. Hardly enough notice to find alternate venue for a large group. A free coffee for myself and a colleague was the very least you cold do. This did not make up for the late booking fees and lack of time to find an alternate venue. The alternate venue suggested was , at best a hall without catering options, so hardly an alternative!

On this occasion, I asked you directly if you were absolutely sure we could book the venue and you informed me that you personally controlled the booking so no issue. That was on a Friday Morning, I then confirmed again on Monday Morning that the booking was still good and that I would advise exact numbers later. The Text message I sent later that same day was to confirm final numbers and exact times, not to enquire about availability as I was already assured twice that the room was ours. Your response was swift however not what we were expecting as yet again you cancelled our booking. You obviously have issues with the booking system and I urge anyone using the meeting room to double check as 100% of the time we have tried booking the room it has resulted in a double booking.

The wait time was incorrectly selected which I have amended. ( However if there was an option for wait time for a meeting room, then it would...

The welcome was just as friendly and helpful as last time. We searched the menu for something different to last time - it is diverse. We each chose something different: My wife had Eggs with mushroom and bacon, our son had 'Croman Maison" from the Lunch menu and I had the Eggs Benedict choosing ham plus a mushroom. All arrived hot, well presented and were thoroughly enjoyed! My wife had a mug of Flat White Coffee while our son had a Banana Coconut Smoothie and I each had a Berry Smoothie. Everything was delicious. We introduced ourselves to the book collection which would be great to seriously consider if we had arrived alone and wanted to read to while away the time. We noticed that members of the constabulary had arrived so we knew that it was time to address our duties in the city. We...
