The Red Ass — Restaurant in Adelaide

Worst range of curries I've ever tasted. Flavourless, bland and very light curries with no actual curry spices or flavours that I could taste. Not to mention they forgot one of the items that were ordered. These curry dishes aren't even worth the price, especially the take-away prices. $15 for a tiny serve of curry is too expensive considering there are places that have dine-in facilities much better than this restaurant with the same menu prices. The vegetarian curry was just tomato juice with a tiny bit of spices and was just full of uncooked chunks of carrot. The thai green curry had no flavour in it besides the coconut cream. The butter chicken was bland and the vegetable and seafood dish had very chewy/overcooked squid that was inedible. The beef curry was also very bland, honestly this was the worst food i've ever come across and I don't know why anyone would come back here considering there are much better places to get food, even cheap takeaway places in town do a better job of curries, let alone more established indian restaurants.

On the 22nd of June, me and my partner both had the absolute pleasure of dinning in at Red Ass. I had the devils curry, although suggested by the name, not too spicy and really complemented the well blanced flavour of the curry. My partner had the mi goreng once again outstanding dish great flavour and everything on the plate pared well. Staff: very respectful, polite and created a very nice and welcoming atmosphere however a little shy. I was very surprised to see so little people inside the restaurant I would recommend this to anyone that is even thinking about Thai or Indian based dishes. My family and I have been ordering from here for years and decided to treat ourselves to a nice dinner for mothers day. $160 later and we were all left so bitterly disappointed and disgusted. Strange tasting meat in the butter chicken left my son hungry, curries with little to no flavour, chewy and strange tasting meat, plastic found in my meal along with a long hair! 🤮 Most of the food was inedible and downright disgusting. Nothing like past meals. We assume the business has been taken over or perhaps the chef decided to take revenge on all the happy families on mothers day. Who knows!
