Yuki in Burnside is a Japanese restaurant located not too far from the CBD, serving a Kaiseki dining experience which changes each season as well as a sushi omakase available only on Sundays. The restaurant is led by head chef Yohei who has previously worked at Ishizuka in Melbourne as a sous chef before moving to Adelaide.

Dined here a while back when they were serving the Autumn menu. Each dish was plated beautifully using ingredients to reflect the seasonality, and they were all delicious; delicate with balanced flavours and textures. Chef Kumiko who specialise in desserts was very kind to offer me a strawberry red bean daifuku when a told them I travelled from Melbourne for a short trip; really appreciate the friendly and welcoming gesture. Also came back for the sushi omakase which included 10+ nigiri as well as several other dishes such as sashimi and grilled fish. Very fresh and tasty; the nigiri pieces were quite big, rice was perfectly seasoned and you get a good topping to rice ratio. The palate cleanser and dessert were also unique and very tasty.

Overall a great dining experience; food presentation and the combination of flavours and textures were amazing. Service was also great from the staffs and chefs. Chef Yohei was very detailed with his craft in preparing and serving the dishes but does not forget to converse with the customers. Highly recommend trying especially if you never had a Kaiseki...

We went here for our anniversary. We chose the Omakase course served at the counter for $185 each. They served each meal with perfect timing and all of dishes were detailed and sophisticated. I especially enjoyed watching how they presented each plate beautifully, so that it looked so attractive from all sides. The interior was nice and stylish with Japanese wood art work called Kumiko. They had a wide range of alcohol and we enjoyed one of the best sake named “獺祭 dassai” The staff was very attentive but never interrupted us while we were enjoying our food or conversation at all. This place was quite pricey as it is fine dining, though it is definitely worth it for the experience on special occasions such as anniversary and birthdays. I would say Adelaide is lacking authentic Japanese food, however, the experience at Yuki in burnside is the same fine dining experience you would receive in Japan. Thank you for making our...

The food was great quality & taste, with beautiful presentation. I was the only one in our party that would have liked a glass of wine, the only shiraz or full bodied wine by the glass was not available. No full bodied wine offered as an alternative, I am sure there was another bottle that could have been opened and sold by the glass. The reason I have marked this down is due to the rest rooms, they were terrible - dirty and looked like they had not been cleaned in over a week, this really put us off and would be a consideration if we were to consider returning at a later time. There was little ambiance because we were the only diners, also we were told about closing time for lunch, which is somewhat...

Definitely an outstandingly elegant dining experience. The standout items for me were the edmame tofu, and the deep fried katafi scallops. The todu was custard firm, but with a pleasant micro fibrous texture. The flavour was unmistakably soy with all the freshness, colour and vibrancy. All packaged in a neat little bundle topped off with aburi scampi. Katafi scallops were like fireworks in your mouth. Crispy wisp of katafi crumbling at your bite, revealing a juicy perfectly cooked scallops inside. Staff were very efficient, attentive and friendly. My family enjoyed it very much. 👍
