Having dined at The Deck previously, I thought it a nice choice to take my elderly friend for a special occasion. I made a reservation for earlier in the evening. Upon arrival I walked to the checkin desk where two waitresses were talking and looking at the register. The one who saw me standing there, instead or acknowledging me went on talking. Once acknowledged and seated, and before ordering drinks, this same wait person told us that someone else had a reservation and wanted the table they had seated us at and asked what time would we be leaving. We were a little taken aback. Indicating we would not be finished and leaving by her timetable, another quite lovely waitress took over our table. The food served was excellent, the service we received was lovely however towards the end of the night the original wait person returned and once again hurried us out of the restaurant. Unfortunately the treatment this one person gave us spoiled our experience and being locals we will probably think twice about returning to The Deck. Also being locals we understand Tuesday nights may be a busy night however I think the wait staff might be better trained in customer service. This is a tourist town and having been an international tourist myself I enjoy a relaxing dinner but I have never had the end time of my dinner suggested to me before, anywhere in the world. It is...
Read morevisited the deck tonight for dinner~ service was prompt and friendly, our waitress was super attentive and helpful, besides one drink being missing for half the time we were there but apart from that lovely~ we tried coming here the other day but they said they were fully booked out, hence we made a booking for tonight~ we ordered the margherita pizza, squid main, arancini balls, crispy pork belly, as for drinks a virgin mojito, a glass of pinot noir and a lemon lime bitters pizza was alright~ since they have quite thin crust you need to eat it really fast or it gets really tough and cold squid was so so fresh and delicious!!! super yum!! arancini balls was nice too~ crispy pork belly was way too hard to eat, the skin on the top was basically impenetrable even with a super sharp knife that they gave, scallops accompanying the dish were lovely though!!! mocktail took a long time to arrive, we figured they forgot about it, other drinks were fine~ overall, a lovely restaurant to try while in airlie beach~ service here is quite friendly!! be sure to...
Read moreService here is very good, staff are friendly and professional, but thats where the good times ended. We got seafood pasta, oysters, meatballs and cheese roll. Everything came out cold. The pasta sauce was bland watery like they have chucked frozen seafood in there and the water has released and watered down the sauce. The bread was cheesy but had been sitting out after being cooked before bringing to us so by the time it came it was not hot. Meatballs tasted great but again not hot, it was like they wanted to bring everything at once but the chefs timing was way off and stuff had to sit while the rest was being made. And dont get me started on the oysters, not a thing that can be treated lightly. Had a couple and was like they seem a bit off then had two more that I couldn’t swallow and had to spit out. Credit to the manager to not charge for the oysters and meatballs. The reason for the review is too inform the staff what is going in an effort to improve on not to degrade the business. As i said you cant be nonchalant when it comes...
