Beaches Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Airlie Beach

Turned a bad thing into a good thing !

What a ripper feed !!! We had come to beaches when we last came to Airlie a few year prior and it is hard to find a bigger and tastier meal for the price you pay and they throw in a beer with the meal.

We came in for a lunch and ordered the schnity and the steak (medium) orderer arrived quickly although it wasn’t super busy. The steak was a little bit over cooked but still very juicy and seasoned perfectly ! The snitz unfortunately was undercooked and still raw in the centre I let the bar know and she apologised then took it into the kitchen, when she came back she let me know that the kitchen would cook me a brand new one and they would refund me the cost of the meal, a great response after this the head chef personally brought the meal out and apologised to us. The snitz was fantastic ! Gravy and chips hit the spot too and a very generous size (all 3 meals) I spoke with the head chef and thanked him for his response he and I had a laugh and he went back into the kitchen as a cherry on top he brought us out a garlic bread free of charge.

Once again we walked out of here more than satisfied whenever you are in Airlie beach I highly recommend you come here for a feed. Great service, happy staff, fantastic food, brilliant atmosphere and all round perfect...

Beaches is a great place to meet new people, it has a fun and exciting vibe. There is a bar next to the hostel, it holds games and cheap drunks so its a great place to relax and not spend to much money. When you check into the hostel you get a half price meal, the meals are a reasonable size and have a lot to choose from.

Beaches is situated on the Main Street opposite the lagoon and beach, so it's in a perfect location. I stayed here twice both times in a 8 person dorm. It was clean and large, it also looked over the bar.

The staff are more than friendly and was willing to help with anything, this made my trip much more enjoyable. Unfortunately I fell unwell and needed medical attention, the staff not only helped me they were willing to try and take me hospital. The hospital is 40 minutes away, luckily I managed to get the bus in the end.

I would defiantly recommend this place if anyone was passing through or off to the Whitsunday's. The only two criticisms are if your planning on leaving baggage with Beaches, while your doing the Whitsunday's they charge $6 to leave your bag. The only other criticism is the hostel is a dry hostel, this means no drinking within the hostel grounds. The criticisms haven't put me off and I will return as the staff are more...

My English is not very good but I had an awfull expierence at this bar.

At first it seemed like a nice place for drinks and a fun night out after doing the Whitsundays tour. Soon we found out that the staff is very very rude. My girlfriend and friends got yelled at a couple times if there was something they didnt like. There was no normal talking, warnings or whatever, just a crew who was very irritated. After the night continued and we were at a other bar I went back to say goodbye to a friend. I went to the back alley who was open at that time. Before I was at the back entrance of Beaches a bartender came screaming to me I should leave instantly wich I did. He started pushing me and kept on shouting. While I was walking away I told him not to touch me and then out of nothing he punched me in my face. While I was defenceless on the ground he attacked me again. I stood up and runned away. I was in shock. I never expierenced this before in my life… I lost my phone and driver license in the attack. My phone I luckily found back the next day but my driver license is still gone.

Im pressing charges against the bartender. We know who it is and we have photos of him. I obviously would never go to this bar again and I recommend nobody to go here.
