The worst experience in food service in Alice Springs. Beyond terrible. 2.5hr wait for meal. Terrible service. Questionable hygiene.
When I first arrived staff said there would be an hour wait for pizzas which is fine so I placed my order. I came back in 1 hour for my pick up but the staff said order was still in the oven. Sat down to wait and after 30 mins of waiting I was pretty frustrated so I stood in a queue to ask again but the line felt like it never moved. No one was being served efficiently so much so that I got sick and tired of waiting so I sat down again because surely the meal should be ready soon or if it was already ready my name would be called… right?!
After waiting another hour (2.5 hours now since placing my order) and watching some interesting interactions I finally got back in the queue to see what was happening as this was beyond ridiculous at this point.
When I finally was served and said my name for the order the man at the counter had the audacity to say my meal was ready for ages and that they called my name several times. I was gobsmacked. Total outrageous lie. I was in the establishment for 1.5 hours and not once did they call my name. In fact, names for orders were rarely called for anyone’s orders. The workers called once when the meal was originally ready and I never heard them call their name again so if you aren’t present for the one and only time they call your name, good luck.
There were also two racks for collections for orders and I never saw any staff call names from the racking where my order was. It seems as though orders just get shoved into there and forgotten about. These orders should be a priority.
As I was waiting I watched as other customers were getting frustrated at this point as well. Multiple people were waiting over 2 hours. Other people had things missing from orders, so on top of waiting forever, they had to wait even longer. Some people had complete orders missing and I witnessed a poor man who ordered his meal at 5:30pm still not have his order ready at 8:30pm. A fight almost also broke out due to a man cutting in the queue because the line being so long and terribly managed. People were frustrated and rightly so.
To make matters worse, due to people having items missing from meals the staff were giving out items from meals waiting for collection (where my meal was waiting I was soon to find out!). I couldn’t believe what I was seeing. No one was calling names out for meals waiting for collection and then staff were just handing out meals to disgruntled customers as a token of apology as though these meals were just forgotten to be collected or something. No, these customers were probably just waiting for their meals and aren’t mind readers that the meals are ready because no one is diligently calling out names. I would have been even more spewing rage if things were missing from my meal that had just been given away to some other unhappy person.
As for the hygiene issues, I also saw a staff member push pizza boxes that were in the area for collection back into the rack with her shoe (not very hygienic and terrible look) and a worker in the back continuously touch his mouth (licking his fingers for example) and touching his face whilst working without gloves and then touching food and food equipment. Totally disgusting and during a pandemic as well. So gross.
As for the food, it was cold when it was finally eaten which is to be expected when an order sits there and no one cares to check if the customer is there to collect. They gave me two free drinks to placate me for waiting for so long but the damage was done.
All in all, one of the worst experiences and if I could give -1 star I would. I think that the staff are all quite new and it hasn’t been open for long, but really, it was a disaster. I should say that there were some good options for people with allergies, such as dairy free which was good to see but I can’t get passed the horrible service to want to ever order from...
Read moreIf we could give this a minus we would, and very angry and upset and poor treatment. My family had no alternative but to order elsewhere, so it became a VERY expensive and disappointing meal after a difficult day which was meant to be an easy night.
Pizza was 4 hours late!! Yes, 4 hours, ordered at 7.15pm and delivered finally at 11.14pm.
Over 14 calls with the store after 2 hours, spoke to the Indian Manager, Cooinda (Unsure of spelling) on 2 occasions 1 hours apart, and he outright lied to us both times.
Offered us half price back and was going to put them in the oven and deliver immediately himself. Outright lie, on a call in another HOUR, his young employee admitted our order was not yet cooked. Food arrived after 11 pm by young women who had been called in to support overdue deliveries. They were very much put on the spot and we felt sorry for them having to face multiple very unhappy customers.
Food was undercooked, dough was raw and UNSAFE for human consumption, we had to try to cook it ourselves to make it edible.
Food was incomplete, missing drinks and sides ordered.
Manager refused to speak to me after lying to me, confirmed by his young lovely staff (confirmed that indeed the order had NOT been cooked as promised an hour earlier when already 3 hours late).
No disrespect to the staff who are obviously working for an incompetent manager who lies and then leaves young inexperienced staff to face the music of upset and angry customers. We do not blame any of them at all.
Please Pizza hut either get a decent manager on board and work this out or don't offer delivery, this is the THIRD time of orders not received and store not answering over the last year but in a small town with limited options we decided to try again.
This will be the LAST time for our family or businesses to order from you.
Extremely disappointing and downright dangerous serving undercooked and unsafe food to people.
Also, never received the partial refund we were promised, even the dog couldn't eat this, we request a full refund.

I don’t know on what basis he became manager, as per him he is manager but I don’t think so because he doesn’t have any quality of being manager. He don’t know English, don’t know how to talk to people and how to handle a customer query . OMG first ever seen that kind of crazy moody manager who has total negative attitude and very aggressive . They have been always serving us wrong pizza , this evening they gave us beef sausage pizza in place of chicken supreme . When we approached and complained about this repeated mistake, Michael statutes shouting and telling to not to order with Pizza Hut if you don’t like the way we serve and we talk . This is the way we handle customer query , complaint and service . OMG, this is too much , never seen such kind of behavior from Pizza Hut and same kind of service Never recommend this Alice springs outlet… they should better close the way dominos did if they don’t want customer to come to them or order online. Better try shammi pizza or pizzeria , this place doesn’t deserve...
