Very unorganized and the pizza did not sit well with my stomach. Before I go into detail: the staff was very nice and helpful, although clearly a bit annoyed by having to explain the menu. The reason we came here was because our Uluru tour guide reserved a table and gets free food and drinks when he brings us. The place itself is nice and in decent shape, but the menu was irritating to an extent I've never seen in a restaurant: Pizza was the daily special, but pizza was out (we then asked, and some pizza was still available). Burgers were also a daily special, but not the "main" burgers - with no indication what a main burger is. Same with drinks: they were also a special, but not all drinks but a confusing subset of them. Either way, both pizza and burgers were fairly priced and tasted fine, but the pizzas made my stomach hurt all night. Given the lack of options in Alice Springs this is probably not the worst place, but I'd be...
Read moreTavern is right next to diplomat hotel and at centre of the city. Food was alright. Drink is as usual in tavern. You can sit as long as you like and play pool with your mates. Apart from all this, there is one older guy at service desk at mid 40 or 50 who seems to throw racist look on foreign customers. I had asked him what is price of the drink and he was very grumpy that I asked this and pointed finger towards all drink and shed a very angry expression. I am not sure what he was ranting about. This guy's service needs to be checked. He is only kind with customer with certain look or type. I saw other two service staffs who were good and were taking care of customers' order. A lot of people seem to come to this tavern so it always looks busy. I went there couple of times as I stayed in hotel. Due to this one guy at customer service I didn't go there again but in overall its good tavern to get out from your...
Read morePartner ordered chicken schnitzel with chips and gravy - this was not too bad at all - bit over cooked but edible. I ordered jerk chicken salad. To pay $22 for a small handful of bits of chicken (not sure if breast or thigh, assume the latter), canned corn (menu says grilled pineapple and corn - former was lovely), some cos lettuce, sliced cherry tomatoes, two slithers of avocado, swimming in vinaigrette - disgracefully over priced. I make jerk chicken and this lacked heat, and no discernible Caribbean flavours. One bottle Canadian club and dry, one vodka and the two meals came to nearly $70. Left hungry and feeling quite ripped off to be truthful. Next time we come up north will not...
