Beware for all future Entertainment Book Users:
I'd like to make a formal complaint about Aquarium Chinese Restaurant. I went there to eat lunch which is "Dim Sum" at this restaurant today at 12pm, 1st of May 2021. When I went up to the counter to pay, I presented my Entertainment Book voucher for 25% off and they declined saying that it's not allowed to be used for "Dim Sum". I was utterly confused as my friends have previously used it before and also during the Dim Sum hours. However, I am not big on confrontation so I paid and didn't want to cause a fuss.
When I returned to my seat, i checked the rules and all it stated was that it had to be "dine in" which is exactly what I did. The only reason why i went to this restaurant was because there was a discount. I have never been rejected a voucher use from any other restaurants before in my 6 years of using the Entertainment Book. It was quite disheartening as I have paid to use the deals from the Entertainment Book yet this restaurant declines to accept it.
I don't mind if Aquarium Chinese Restaurant does not want to accept the deals during lunch time but why is this not stated as a rule? If that was the case, I wouldn't have chosen to dine there. I have been a long time user of the Entertainment Book but experiences like today are not right as I am a strict follower of rules. A restaurant cannot just make up a rule whenever and however they like just so it can be convenient to them. In the future, this restaurant can also tell me that they don't accept the vouchers for dinner and make the rules up for when it suits them.
If they don't want to be a part of the Entertainment Book, that is fine but it's the principle that I don't agree with. I will not be returning to this restaurant and for all the other Entertainment Book users out there who want to dine here, just beware that they may not accept your deal.
In response to the owners I believe if you have notified Entertainment Book and they have not updated your policies due to COVID-19, you should still be honoring the vouchers until it has been updated in the policy and known to the public. This is not how you should be treating customers.
I have already tried simply using the voucher and the cashier would not accept my voucher. Regardless, i would have been forced to pay with the restaurant not accepting my voucher as they believe their conditions...

Accessibility: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Aquarium Seafood Chinese Restaurant provides an accessible environment with ramps, elevators, and braille signage to accommodate wheelchair users and visually impaired guests. Although they have accessible parking, navigation can be a bit challenging and some paths may not be as clear. Still, it's commendable how they have included these facilities to ensure everyone's comfort.
Facilities: ⭐ Unfortunately, the restaurant does not have disability-specific facilities. The lack of accessible restrooms is particularly a point of concern. The venue could make improvements in this area to ensure a more inclusive and accommodating space for all guests.
Quality of Offerings: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The restaurant excels in its food offerings! The quality is exceptional, the presentation is beautiful, and the variety is commendable. The diverse menu caters to different palates, and every dish we tried was delectable. If you're a food lover, you'll certainly enjoy the gastronomic experience here!
Safety Measures: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The safety measures in place are outstanding. The restaurant environment is safe for individuals with disabilities. All areas are well-lit, handrails are available and well-maintained, and there are no tripping hazards. This level of safety is crucial and appreciated!
Community Integration: ⭐⭐ While the venue allows for interaction and inclusion, there seems to be a lack of events catering to individuals with disabilities. With some more focused efforts on inclusive events, this area can definitely be improved to ensure that everyone feels welcome and included.
Overall, Aquarium Seafood Chinese Restaurant offers a good dining experience with high-quality food and safety measures. However, it could benefit from enhancing its facilities and community integration efforts to be more inclusive for individuals with disabilities. Here's hoping that they continue to improve their services to provide an even better dining experience for everyone....
Read moreEDIT: Since eating here this restaurant has recently been fined $100,000 because of a kitchen that was so filthy and disgusting it would not even be fit to prepare food for animals. Inspectors found dead rats and a cockroach infestation throughout the kitchen as well as rats droppings in rice. The $100,000 fine is one of the highest penalties issued due the severity. The sentencing magistrate used the terms 'sickening', 'disgusting' and 'nauseating' to describe the filth and condition of the kitchen.
We had Yum Cha here yesterday with some friends. Some key points below. Service very hit and miss. We were seated for close to 15 minutes before tea was delivered to the table and food shortly after. After this initial serve there was no attention from staff until we had to raise our hands and beckon for them to come and serve us for the rest of the time we were there. This is not a typical Yum Cha service. The service should be regular and attentive with a good selection of food constantly being brought to the table by attentive wait staff. Tea was not refilled on the centre of the table. We ran out of tea and placed the lid of the teapot on the top to let them know we needed more tea and hot water. Once again we had to beakon them to come over. Not good enough. Food was just ok, not below average or above average but just very average. Fried squid was tasteless and not crispy. The steamed dim sum was just ok. The decorations and interior look to be in a state of disrepair. To get to the toilet you need to walk past a large fish tank with crabs and fish, there was water all over the floor, lots of water; from the tanks that are obviously leaking. Not sure why that was left the way it was but that water all over the tiled floor is an accident waiting to happen.
In summary there are much, much better Yum Cha venues in Perth to choose from. We won't go back. One positive is the parking out front and...
