Aunty Jacks Brew Demo

I had the pleasure of attending a brew day at Aunty Jacks with two friends, and it was an absolutely amazing and educational experience! From the moment we arrived, Matt made us feel welcome and prepared us for what turned out to be an incredibly engaging day.

The event was meticulously organized, starting with introductions and a thorough safety induction. We then jumped straight into the brewing process, which was hands-on, exciting, and expertly guided. Matt is not only knowledgeable but also passionate about what he does, and managed to make the brewing process both fun and accessible for all of us.

The hospitality was top-notch as well. We were treated to delicious morning tea, lunch, and a few beer flights throughout the day. They even took the time to cater to dietary preferences, which was a thoughtful touch.

The venue itself is an authentic working brewery, so be ready to embrace the charm of stainless steel, wet floors, and the occasional splash. The team made sure we were prepared and comfortable, offering clear instructions about attire and safety.

The day flew by with great conversations, laughter, and, of course, beer! It’s not just about brewing; it’s about connecting with like-minded beer enthusiasts and learning in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

If you’re considering this experience, I highly recommend it. Whether you’re a seasoned beer lover or just curious about the brewing process, Aunty Jacks delivers an unforgettable day. Huge thanks to the team for hosting us so wonderfully—can’t wait to come...

Dined at Aunty Jacks on the 27th of August. The aesthetic was unique and fun. It’s always nice going to a non-traditional style restaurant.

We were kindly greeted at the front and lead upstairs. We were seated near 3 families with young children. As two people going on a date, being situated near young kids wasn’t ideal. I think Aunty Jacks should leave upstairs for families and young children, and downstairs for people without children. Having kids constantly run past you or rolling on the floor ruins the vibe for people without kids. Just something to consider.

We ordered the lamb ribs, chips and the salt kitchen charcuterie board (small). The lamb ribs and chips were very nice. The charcuterie board was nice BUT the size of the board and contents let us down. Firstly, the charcuterie board arrived on a plate? It didn’t feel like a charcuterie board at all. We noticed the fish and chips was served on a small cheese board so why wasn’t this charcuterie board? We received pita bread, pickled vegetables, an assortment of meats and a small bread stick. We were expecting cheeses as well? Photos will be attached. I believe a price tag of $18 is more suitable for this ‘charcuterie’ board, instead of $24.

The customer service was flawless. Every interaction was extremely pleasant. The waitstaff would go out their way to make your dining experience exceptional.

Would we return again? Yes! We would give Aunty Jacks another go. However, we would request to remain seated downstairs and we wouldn’t order the small...

Aunty Jacks has wonderful staff, fantastic atmosphere and awesome beers so credit where it is due. However 2 of us ordered the salads and they were pretty average as a main meal. Mine was the panzanella and I've made this myself at home and love it so I was pretty disappointed to get a very average salad with 80% baby spinach, and barely any bog standard under-ripe tomato with not a sweet little cherry or solanato or any other nice tomato in sight!! The beer croutons were so hard I had to chew so carefully in fear of breaking a tooth and eventually gave up and left most of them behind!. The Chopped green was also very uninspired and both of them were more like a large garnish side salad but not even as tasty! Sorry for the negative comments but I think if you're going serve a salad as a main it really needs to have more layers and texture and flavour. My husband said the burger was really tasty but the chips were a little dry. However the 2 starters with the Haloumi cheese were delicious so thanks for everything else though, it was lovely. We'd come back for drinks and atmosphere and lovely friendly staff but I couldn't in all honesty recommend the food in general. Maybe other things on the...

We arrived today and the first place we tried was Aunty Jacks, a great way to start our adventure in Ballarat! So many cool vibes as soon as you enter this brewery. We were looked after by Mary who was amazing and very attentive. In fact all of the staff here are very friendly and a delight to deal with. We ordered a prawn pizza with chorizo, chilli, tomato and mascarpone which had just the right amount of spice to it. The interior is quirky with relaxed chairs and an open fire as you walk in. Going upstairs there is a whole wall of suitcases and drawers to look at where the brewery vats are. It’s great to see a business that is so sustainable too. If you are in Ballarat, you would be mad to miss this place!

Very very cool looking place! We went in thinking it was a cafe but actually its restaurant… the staff was so lovely and directed us round the corner to a cafe cos we wanted a takeaway drink. But Aunty Jacks looked so great inside we thought oh well come back. The staff and the place itself I can’t fault. Very lovely and the place looks great. But the food was just okay. Not terrible just not as good as was hoping for. Had the halloumi burger and I think the bruschetta.. hmm it’s a few days later and yep I’ve forgotten because it wasn’t memorable.. unlike Meredith farm stores bruschetta 20 mins away.. :) Anyway I wouldn’t go back unfortunately for that reason.
