El Jannah Chicken Belmont — Restaurant in Barwon South West

As someone who is an avid charcoal chicken fan, I had high hopes for this place, especially after seeing the lines for the ones in the city. Having eaten at dozen of charcoal chicken restaurants and purchased charcoal chicken from my favourite restaurants hundreds of times, I can easily say this is the worst charcoal chicken establishment I’ve ever eaten at and would NOT recommend it to anyone.

Chicken was clearly several days old, being hard as a rock, dry and tasteless. The chips were soggy and cold. The meal was pointless… and it went into the bin.

This is the second most expensive charcoal chicken place I’ve eaten at and for the price, I expected better quality… I’m beginning to wish the state or federal governments would impose minimum food quality levels based on the price of the meal and start imposing large fines on businesses that trick people into thinking the food is going to be good, simply because the price is high. Unfortunately, places like McDonald’s would spend large amounts of money to prevent this because they and businesses like this would be closed down...

We ordered the charcoal chicken family feast + tabouleh + profiterols. The chicken, tabouleh, garlic sauce, hummus, fresh bread and pickles were all amazing and went so well together. The only disappointment was the fattoush, which didn't have the crispy bread that was in the picture and didn't have enough dressing. Or maybe we were given the wrong salad 🤷‍♀️. The tabouleh on the other hand was amazing. The chicken was so good. Had a nice smoky and tangy flavour. The whole meal was amazing and the whole family enjoyed it. The chips could use a bit more salt maybe. The profiterols weren't fresh. Service was slow, but this branch has just opened, so that might be the reason. The food is amazing. Highly recommend. Ordered the Half Deluxe Chicken Meal ($21.50) and 2 pistachio and 2 chocolate profiteroles (4 for $5) through the drive thru, friendly and efficient customer service 😁 Charcoal chicken was cooked well and juicy with plenty of seasoning, the pickles were fresh and crunchy, for me I'd enjoy the chips more if they had more seasoning 😋 The Lebanese bread was a bit dry but the garlic sauce was a good condiment that brought the whole dish together when put into a wrap 😋 Huge portions, enough for 2 people, ate one wrap and then made the other one the next day, added cheese and put it in the press! 😋 The profiteroles are bite size but I loved the gooeyness of the chocolate ones the best ❤️Delicious food, affordable, good value for money and definitely will...
