Cold Rock Ice Creamery Geelong — Restaurant in Victoria

Ice cream is delicious! I love the variety of flavors to choose from and variety of add ons available, and the ice cream is super yummy! However, it is on the pricey side. A cup of ice cream alone is expensive then $1 per add on (which could be as small as a spoonful of maltesers, or a Tim Tam, or a fun size choc bar) and before you know it you're looking at a $10 cup of ice cream!!

The staff member was friendly and patient. Only issue with the staff member was that their hair was shoulder length and not tied back, so each time he reached into some of the ice cream tubs that were lower on ice cream it meant his hair was actually going into the tub of ice cream that he was leaning over! Big hygiene issue there! But otherwise can't fault them.

The venue itself was a bit old and run down and had a strong unpleasant smell. From the outside it looked dark and the "open" sign was not on, so at first I thought it was actually closed. The tables outside were so loose and wobbly that they were unusable.

A bit of a freshen up on the building and a quick refresher in hygiene and the place would be...

If overpriced icecream, dirty surroundings and unenthusiastic staff dont bother you, this is the place for you! My 6yo won an award for a free ice cream at AusKick, so of course we went to redeem her prize, and am very disappointed with the experience. Only one other customer in there , but all other tables were dirty, one the ice cream had dried on so had clearly been there a while. It was clearly a hassle for the girl behind the counter to serve us, she looked very unimpressed with having to deal with customers, took the award voucher off us after we said we still needed to write details on it to enter the competition on the bottom. Then to top it off, we have a disappointed daughter who thought her award would go up on the wall (as it states it does at the bottom of the award) but no such wall exists in the store. Really don't think we will bother...

Yesterday I took my teenage grand daughters to Cold Rock Ice Creamery in Belmont Vic. It was very crowded as it was just after school. Ben was serving by himself and the shop was crowded, however he was so polite and helpful to all of us and seemed very calm, even though he was under the pump. Cold Rock, you have an efficient and such an amazing employee. We have been twice now after school and been served by Ben and he offered the same great service. The girls and I were very impressed. I asked my grand daughters if they would cope working under that pressure, my 16 year old who also works in a busy customer service, said she wished she could jump behind the counter to help him.
