Mandarin Court — Restaurant in Victoria

Worst Chinese dine in experience I have come across in Geelong. We booked our table of four. We were greeted after 10 minutes at the counter, got our table and waited another 25 min to even have someone come over to us to give us a menu and I had asked multiple times. By the time the menu was given to us we had open our own drinks and then finally had prawn crackers (3 of) for a table of 4 given to us. When our meals came there were only 3 and our 4th guest waited another 30 min for his meal while we waited and then started eating. We asked for 3 lots of small rice and one came. After several reminders his meal finally came and with not one apology and not spare rice as asked. We were quick to eat as the whole environmental and staff were not warm nor friendly. It was a very take it or leave it attitude. When we went to pay we were charged for food we did not get (rice) and one of our guests ordered a coffee that never came.

We questioned our meal and the manager was to ‘busy’ to even come and help his young waitress.

A piece of advice to the manager, go up to Fortune Garden. That’s real food, exception service...

Ate in on a Tuesday night , ordered pork & cabbage dumplings , dumplings were full of water & freshly defrosted out the freezer. 1st main was a sizzling seafood combination with garlic , clearly wasn't with garlic , tasted like water , the missus ate a piece of fish , all she could taste was ammonia & her cider she ordered was dated best before 09 /2021 . I had the sizzling sazechuan beef and a bowl of special fried rice to share. The beef was like they had used watered down bbq sauce no flavour at all. The special fried rice was dry and basically all rice. Both meals main meals were hardly touched, when the waitress asked if we needed a takeaway container and the answer from us was a "no thankyou" we got a confused look and silence and she walked away. We were the only two in the restaurant and no effort was made to ask how our meals were, hense our decision to publish my first review. We won't be going back any time soon , ladies toilets weren't cleaned...

My reasons for walking out was mainly, the cost. half a duck @ $30 is too expensive, asked if you served smaller portions thinking this was a whole duck, no - it's normal price for half $9 for 2 x canned soft drinks (and you got the order wrong)

I decided to leave as your prices were astronomical. I wasn't going to give you my point of view, but I believe you need a reality check.

You proceeded to tell my wife that you pay real wages (I work in payroll/hr) I understand the cost of running a business and your justification is rubbish, but if you can get people to pay you what you like in your restaurant, you shouldn't have to justify this and will be in business for a long time to come.

Here's a tip: Walk across the road to "China Town Dumpling" (I didn't know about this place, till I did some research at home). This is your competition, if you are to remain...
