Getting a little bit better here now, but.... The majority of people who pass through our town stop here for a bite to eat, having had KFC in other parts of our country or the world, and yet the consensus on the quality of this restaurant certainly leave much to be desired....
The restaurant is in dire need of highly experienced staff and management to lift its reputation in ALL areas of both food quality and their quality of service staff.
FOOD: The quality of what is prepared is hit and miss. There is no consistency in the quality that goes out to customers. We've been there at times and have greatly enjoyed our meal, yet when we return a few days later it's so bad that we've had to throw it out or risk food poisoning. You're not meant to be able to SMELL the oil they've cooked the chicken in, but on a few occasions the chicken has had the worst smell imaginable - like the chicken had been cooked in motor oil - I'm not joking. You're NOT meant to be able to smell the oil on the chicken. When you complain to the manager, they claim the oil has just been changed, takes your name and number and offers to replace your meal free on your next visit.....would you revisit on the off chance you get better food when so many people have complained about this restaurant? Maybe we will, maybe we won't. But one thing is certain, we're sharing our terrible experience with others because we don't want them to suffer as have we. Many people sharing similar bad experiences can't all be wrong. They're simply sharing the truth.
SERVICE: Depending on the time of day and time of year (gets extremely busy during school holidays) you visit, you could be in for up to a 30 minute wait, not to mention that you probably won't get everything you've paid for. Their staff's inability to up sell or combine multiple items ordered separately into a value deal to save you money is a very serious issue. At times it feels like they prefer to rob you instead of providing world class customer service and food. With that said, mind you, not all the staff are as incompetent. You will occasionally come across a staff member who is on the ball and surprisingly delivers the quality of customer service that you expect from any chain of this fast food restaurant. But this is a rare event.
I have had family visit me from interstate who work for the same chain where they live and have visited our local KFC, believing in the theory that the same high quality standard they were trained with would be served everywhere, but they were appalled by the filth in store and terrible cooking standards as well as stock rotation. We witnessed fresh chicken being piled on top of older chicken. No wonder when you get your order you might not have consistency or if you visit the store after a rush, you're served horrible chicken that's dry and wrinkly and that should have been thrown out several hours prior to your purchase.
Things like this are just unacceptable. Perhaps the HEALTH DEPARTMENT should be notified and some serious fines imposed because if they continue serving such bad food quality, one day it could kill someone.
Clearly there has not been a competent manager here in a long time. Someone needs to fix the problem and raise this KFC store from the gutter or give all their staff a serious training course in hospitality. This store has the potential to be GREAT but when it seems like they've got a bunch of lazy kids working there with a don't care attitude that take no pride in their work.....you're not going to get the standard of service that you receive from other chain stores.
The excuses we've received in the past for bad or slow service was that several staff called in sick.....(I wonder if they ate the chicken?)

Read moreWorst experience I have ever had, My daughter and I ordered at the same time mine came out quickly even though it looked like I had been served the smallest chicken ever, then we waited for thirty minutes, I went to the counter and asked where her order was and they told me it was being worked on, in the meantime everyone who ordered after us received their orders large and small, so I got annoyed and asked to speak to the manager and a young girl came out I explained to her what had happened and she proceeded to tell me they were experiencing some problems out the back I told her that was rubbish as everyone else was getting their orders, I wasn't happy that now my order was cold and not once did she apologise, it was now forty five minutes later so we asked for our money back , she went to the register and realised that the order that we made wasn't available in the store and we paid almost one hundred dollars for chicken and she could only refund us seventy six dollars, I can tell you we were not happy even though we proved how much we had paid she kept telling us her hands were tied as they don't have that item in store but we ordered it on their screen, now after arguing for a further ten minutes she informed us our order was ready, are you serious. We took the order and checked it and it was missing three large chips and a regular coleslaw, to be told they didn't have that size coleslaw so we suggested after all the s___ t we had been put through she could at least upsize it, meanwhile we had been there for fifty minutes and my food was cold which I threw in the bin from sheer anger as she did not offer to give me a fresh...
Read moreI went out of my way to visit this store on Monday 7th July (I am a local and regular customer) to get the 8 tenders for $8 Christmas in July special (a rare special). I arrived there at 12.45 pm and the store was very crowded and had very few staff and there was no chicken in any of the racks. When I started typing my order into my App the 8 tenders for $8 order button was greyed out. I then tried to order the 5 piece original recipe offer for $8 and it was also greyed out. My husband went to the counter to try to ask the lady at the counter what was happening. She ignored him for 15 minutes and eventually he managed to get her attention. She said there are no tenders available. He asked what about later in the day and she said there will be none today at all. He asked about the original recipe and she just shrugged her shoulders and turned her back. In disgust we went to McDonalds instead. We went back on 8th July to get the 9 pieces of original recipe for $9.95 and arrived at the store about 12.40 pm and put in my order. The store was practically empty. The gentleman on the counter called my name and told me there would be a 15 minute wait for the chicken. After about 30 minutes my name was called and I received my chicken. It was very hot but very greasy. The staff on the counter were very friendly to everyone and keeping us informed.
