B Town BBQ — Restaurant in Bathurst

I am not going to be kind in this review however I will be honest. It took this place two hours to get food for an 18 month old. 7pm booking. We ate well after 9pm. No care, no consideration. 30 minutes to clear people from our table (who had finished and were just drinking). 15 minutes before we could order. Told it would be an hour. 30 minutes later than that. Food came out incredibly staggered: half the table had finished before the other half got theres. All for food that should be ready to go (aside from pizzas and the bruschetta-style entrees), its bbq afterall, its plating. Bar staff day dreaming or inattentive. No updates from wait staff about the wait. Two of us never saw parts of our order. We get that sponsors like Red Bull Racing or V8 drivers are premium guests and would jump queues and get fed as a priority...but to shuck us to two hours for almost-good bbq with a baby at the table... Ya coulda done the kid his meal. Us adults weren't happy, clearly, but we can grudge along with drinks and convo. A kid? Not so much. Be smarter, be kinder. Cmon, doing anything less and it's insulting. Also, the entry door doesn't close fully (last night was not ideal) and there was no soap in the men's toilet... all night. I did enjoy the slaw, having cranberries in it was good. My apologies for using swear words in reporting the issue of my grand nephew's hunger to staff, that was not directed at them however I should have had more decorum. Lovely American BBQ joint.

Loved the atmosphere it’s like industrial/western, lots of American style decor earthy tones and very cozy

We got Brisket, cheesey kransky, chicken, Mac n chees and Big Mac Fries

BRISKET: was on point. Tender, juicy with perfect bark and smoke ring. Could be me but I’d like a more seasoned rub. Smokey but coulda used a bit more bite, salt n pepper. At this point in my American bbq food journey I’m after a truly outstanding brisket to give out the 5 star rating.

CHICKEN: tender and held a decent moisture. Great flavours of the rub made it through the skin and to the meat.

CHEESEY KRANSKY: The winner of day. This kransky had the best snap of any kransky I’ve ever had. Amazing flavour profile and perfectly juicy. Great bite to it.

MAC N CHEESE: pretty basic flavour profile and sauce. Still looking for the perfect mac n cheese

BIG MAC LOADED FRIES: lovely dry n flavoured burnt ends to cut through the fries. Sauce and lettuce added a pretty accurate flavour to the dish being homaged.

Overall we were very happy with B Town BBQ experience. Went in Friday for lunch and meals arrived in a timely fashion with friendly courteous staff. Just the right serving size that we weren’t overstuffed and at a very decent price....

Celebrating a special occasion last night and thought BBQ would be nice. Ordered for delivery (was through an external meal delivery service as I was unable to order delivery directly through B Town BBQ) Upon opening the box there was missing beef brisket and didn't receive the serving of burnt end brisket beans I ordered in addition to the main meal.. The meal I ordered said 200g of beef brisket. There was definitely not 200g in the cardboard box. Missing some chicken wings, the kransky was tiny and the two pieces of "garlic bread" looked like the rejects off an end of a french stick. No flavour at all. The brisket we had was dry. The pork ribs were fatty and had no bbq flavour, the chicken wings were just cooked. The pulled pork tasted like someone just poured sauce over it. The potato salad was covered in what I assume was wholegrain mustard. Couldn't taste anything but the mustard seeds. For the price we paid for our dinner it was disappointing. I called twice, left a voicemail message and even contacted them through Facebook messenger. They've seen my message but haven't responded. I've ordered plenty of times from B Town BBQ but I will never...
