Comfort Inn Serenity Bathurst — Hotel in Bathurst

Arrived late at night, plenty of parking (very well lit), staff super accommodating, room seemed basic at first but was very clean, great WiFi, fridge, tea/coffee etc, fan and light controls accessible from bed, blinds blocked out the world, it had all the comforts you would expect from a more expensive motel without the unnecessary frills, although must note the linens were lovely for the price.

All this would be enough but here are the things that take it from ok to WHAT???

Unbelievable shower pressure, if you appreciate a good shower pressure you will understand. BEST pillows I have ever slept on, I just don't know, everyone likes their own type of pillow - I like thin, soft, hardly any point to them pillows, these were big and fluffy and filled me with dread; and then.... nothing I was asleep. Shared kitchen - it has everything you need and a dining table Shared laundry - didn't use but super convenient.

So, to give you the negatives, there was no milk for tea/coffee in my room but may have been in the kitchen, I found the exhaust fan in the bathroom loud but it may just be me and it didn't bother other rooms.

We have just stayed here this week 18th to the 21st May while my wife was in hospital I also had just had my knee surgery 6 days ago and still couldn't walk with out my crutches and trying to cook my tea in the dining room the manager was there and helped me cook my tea,got me a plate and knife and fork from the cupboard,the other manager that also shared the work load was also very helpful.This is were you find out you have fantastic staff after trying to get a taxi and uber for 2 hours young Maddie a wonderful girl that is a house cleaner had just finished work wanted to know why I was up set I told her about trying to get the hospital to see my wife Maddie Drove me 4 km out of her way before heading home I hope the Comfort Inn knows what a wonderful staff they have working for them,we are booking for the 3rd of June when my wife goes back to hospital. Our experience with this establishment was exceptionally poor on several levels.

The offer of “free cancellation “ (if requested more than 24 hours before check in), we found is NOT honoured, even though we contacted them some 30 hours in advance due to a change in the soccer competition kick off times which my daughter was playing in. Then, to add insult to injury, the twin room we booked for the 2 nights was on sold , so when we arrived we were put into a double with blocked drains which stunk the place out. Went to reception to ask for a room change…..no one to be seen. Not ideal when it was specifically booked for father and teenage daughter. Any correspondence sent to the manager following the stay was ignored and wasn’t until the NSW dept of fair trading got involved that we got ANY response whatsoever.
