I wanted to like this place, and the food was alright (though the chicken and some of the ribs were a bit dry) Booked for my birthday, when arriving they couldn’t seem to find my booking which does happen it’s fine and we were seated anyway. They told us come to the counter when we are ready to order, and we waited 5 minutes for them but weren’t given any menus… Tried to find some menus, and eventually when I approached the counter finally they gave us some. Finally ordered food, and asked for a platter and two bottomless teas and returned to the table. Food took about 45 minutes, but the tea took over an hour to get, I asked once when food arrived if we’d be getting them and got up once to ask where the tea was when we were halfway done with the food already. Wasn’t until the third time I’d gotten up to ask we finally got them, when we were basically done eating soon. If you don’t want people to order the bottomless tea just don’t sell it! We also weren’t told how to get more so I had to bring them to the bar and ask for more. Finally it seemed on several occasions they’d been trying to get us to leave, asking many times, including right after we’d just started eating, if we wanted a take away container for the rest of the food to leave, before we’d even gotten the tea as well. Overall I was really hopeful for this place after going by a few times but I regret choosing it for my birthday. My partner is American though so we appreciated that the food was pretty authentic and tasted like home. Service was just too much.. I’d planned to buy desserts for my birthday and more things but as I was just feeling very anxious and sad we left as soon as we could.

Porkies does pretty darn good American style BBQ! Their wings have a good fry on them and tasty sauce - I'll admit I'd prefer if they were smaller (a bit weird I know 😅), but they're very yum as is. No idea how they do it: the chicken breast they serve up is juicy, perfectly seasoned, and absolutely delicious. Pulled pork isn't a favourite for me here, but everyone I've dined with here say great things. Brisket is really good for the grade of meat they use - there are other BBQ places in Perth that use some more premium grade beef, but Porkies does a very reasonable job: good flavour, visible smoke ring.. I just wish there was a touch more moisture throughout the brisket. The baby back pork ribs are my go-to pick! Every rack has been super yum. Can't go wrong with a full rack of ribs at Porkies! Sides: Mac + Cheese & Slaw I recommend, the others I'm not really a fan of. Friends have said good things about the scalloped potatoes, I could take it or leave it. Friendly, helpful service is what has really brought the experience together for us at Porkies. Each time we've visited, tea /pop (except alcohol that you have to PAYG at the bar) is an easy top-up, and the staff make you feel welcome. Snaps from our last visit - mmmm ribs!

I definitely want to try again on another day and see if it’ll be different/any better. I tried the loaded fries which was good but I don’t think i’ll be getting it again as I ended up preferring the chips on their own. My partner got the beef burger/sandwich which was nice, although he said he remembers it being better the first time he tried it. We also ordered a side of 1 maryland (which was probably one of my favourites from the night as it was smokey, juicy and flavourful), as well as some pulled pork. The side of pulled pork was a little disappointing - we added a little salt but found that it was much better with their delicious bbq sauce. Last for best is their banoffee pie!! I would come back just for that pie! We got a cherry pie and the banoffee for takeaway and my partner loved the banoffee over the cherry. They use a yummy buttery biscuit crust with looadss of caramel, banana pieces and beautiful cream on top. Highly recommend! They can also accommodate for big groups - they have plenty of seating. The only thing I noticed was if it’s peak/really busy I don’t think there would be much parking but it’s right across the road from a train station.

We’ve been coming here for over 7 years. This used to be our go-to spot, easily one of our favourite places to eat. We’d bring friends, family, anyone visiting because the food was always solid and the BBQ was worth talking about. Sadly, those days are gone.

The changes are obvious and not in a good way. Prices have gone up but the food has gone downhill fast. The ribs came out basically raw still red inside couldn't barley cut through them with the steak knife which is dangerous and unacceptable. The chicken wings where also undercooked half raw, The burnt ends used to be the highlight, now they’re dry, tough, and taste like leather. Jalapeno poppers were a disaster, burnt and over-fried to the point they were bitter. Cornbread and sausage tasted like they were bought from the supermarket and heated up out the back. Even the mac and cheese, which used to be a comfort food staple, was foul. The oil clearly hasn’t been changed in ages, you can taste it and even smell it walking past the kitchen to the toilets.

On top of that, the place looks and feels dirty. Tables were sticky, the dining area wasn’t clean, and it’s obvious hygiene has slipped. The wait staff were slow, uninterested, and came across as rude when we asked simple questions.

The only thing I enjoyed all night was the post mix soft drinks and that tells you everything. A BBQ restaurant that used to set the standard has turned into somewhere I wouldn’t recommend to anyone. After years of loyalty, this was...

Placed a phone order with a guy by the name of Jon whose phone manner was terrible, even my daughter said to me that the guy you just spoke with on the phone sounded like a douche bag.

Upon arrival i approached one of the staff members, who I might add was very friendly and mentioned I was here to collect my phone order.

He repeated my order to me but instead of making just the one meal they had made two even though I only ordered the one.

Upon stating that I only ordered the one meal another guy behind the front counter who I realised was Jon(assume is the owner) by the way he spoke went on to tell me that I definitely ordered two meals!

I reassured him that I had only ordered the one meal when I spoke with him over the phone. He then proceeded to say under his breath two meals in a very childish immature manner.

This is definitely not the way to handle these types of situations with your customers. Had the staff member(great customer service) that served me not been there I would of told Jon where he could put both of his meals and would of walked out empty handed.

I suggest you take a course in customer service!

Pity really as the food is pretty good however, will not be supporting an owner that communicates with customers in the way...
