Kinky Lizard Cafe Maylands — Restaurant in Western Australia

I have just walked out the door of this cafe and left $30 worth of food on the table on the table after eating a single bite. I have been coming to this cafe for years getting the same beautiful scrambled egg and toast. Today I go in and everything has changed. They have buttered the toast in advance without checking with me... The scrambled egg is the texture of couscous and I actually had to pick through it to make sure I had got the right meal... They put chili's on top of the scrambled egg without asking and pour some type of a balsamic vinegar all over the eggs.... I do not know who has taken over here or who the chef is, but they need to be fired immediately... I can now never come back here again for fear of wasting another $30 and not knowing what I'm going to get once I have paid for it. This food was embarrassing and I am so very disappointed that one of my favourite coffee shops is now no...

I've eaten here twice and both have been underwhelming experiences. Most recently I ordered the croissant shown in another review, and I wish I'd taken a photo because what I received was nothing like what the other reviewer received. The croissant itself was stale and dry, and it was missing half the ingredients that are stated on the menu. The first time I ordered from here the meal I received had different ingredients to what was on the menu. If they're going to change what's in the dish they should be updating their menu; it's not only disappointing to pay for one thing and get something different, but could have a serious adverse outcome for someone with allergies or intolerances. The food is very overpriced, even for Maylands. I don't mind paying more if the food tastes great, but this was pretty average. The service is fast though, so...

I had a disappointing visit to Kinky Lizard this morning. Despite being the only customer, the service was slow and disorganized. It took 10-15 minutes to get a smoothie and muffin for takeaway, even with three staff members behind the counter.

The banana bliss smoothie was a letdown – warm and oddly flavored, it seemed pre-mixed and made earlier. No ice was used, contributing to the overall dissatisfaction.

The blueberry and white chocolate muffin was equally disappointing. The top 3/4 was dry and plain, while the bottom 1/4 was a soggy mess of blueberries and white chocolate, making it inedible.

Overall, my quick treat turned into a regrettable experience. I would recommend skipping this venue for a more satisfying...
